Peterborough Show 2012

so what bit of land are out of use I wonder?

See below Upadate from Warners about Peterborough Show.

Update from the organisors:

"Due to the unprecedented number of pre-booked campers, the current weather conditions and the now confirmed loss of land due to the weather, we have had to make the decision that in order to accommodate our pre-booked campers, we will be unable to accept any non-booked campers at this show."

The only other way is to take advantage of G2EWS selling his tickets (see posts above).

Sonja

I wonder what bits of land are going to be out of use then?

Expecting van back from 'menders' in an hour or so-bit of packing to do-light moccassin for my right foot  take the Mr Whippy sign off so's not to offend someone
bread trays, and a few things for ourselves.
If I drive forward on to my pitch, will that,in effect, give me 'rear wheel drive' when I leave:Rofl1:
Cyas all,

Mike.

I was planning on sailing again this week-end but by the look of the weather I could kill two birds with one stone.

Could I moor up near the funsters, bear in mind my hull and keel draws 2 meters.:Rofl1:

Hi Jaws,

As in my handle the registration is G2EWS, but I understand if you phone them up and say you have changed your motorhome since purchasing the ticket they will give you a code to put on the paperwork! So I am told anyway.

Best regards

Chris

Cheers Chris.. I was going to grab it for number one son but he has a heating job on for this weekend so is not allowed out to play.. Sorry ......

I know I'm not listed as a trader in the funster list but I wondered if I could interest any of the Peterborough Funsters in my latest headwear. Names could be added just like Sian's badges..........

...............Order now to guarantee shipment overnight.......£9.99 :Rofl1:

These bread trays you are talking about, Tesco seemed to be upset this morning when I tried to borrow some, may be a bit late - :Confused:any chance of bail?

Chris

Decision made in the pouring rain, we won't be coming to Peterborough. Pity but sensible. See you at Tattingstone.

Same for us unfortunately-after 4 days of dashing back through France in pouring rain for an unexpected appointment for MRI scan (had it Tues eve-results in a couple of weeks time)
plus getting alternator sorted and a new wing mirror fitted,I've run out of steam
We'll miss the socialising :cry:so many people we wanted to see again and others we wanted to put faces to.
Roll on Wrenbury.

Not Sure

Hi all at Peterborough.

Hope you all have a great time despite weather.

Not sure if we will be able to make it at all but if we can it won't be for long. Cathryn's dad is not well and hospital staff yesterday suggested we should not leave. Today he looks well. He is lucid and eating again so who knows.

Cheers Malcolm

Hi Bob and Jane,
We too have been put off by the rain and have decided not to come to Peterboro. - We couldn't face sharing the van with a mad wet Springer Spaniel!
Tattingstone is near to home so we hope to see you there.

I am wide awake :Doh: listening to the rain hammering down on the roof of the van. Looking at the electric meter watching 10amps flooding out of the battery and hoping for some sun tomorrow.....

Looking forward to tomorrow though. First full day here and meeting up with everyone:BigGrin:

For anyone planning to arrive at Peterborough - strongly suggest filling up with water before leaving home. Water pressure so low here it took me ages to fill and then I was trapped on 3 sides by manoeuvring caravans! Possibly the longest water fill in history. :Eeek:

Hi Bob & Dawn,

Before we leave in the morning I wondered you could advise how bad weather & mud is as to whether or not we bring our two small dogs or if we should leave them at home. The children are already equipped with wellies & macs!

Thanks
Mrs Travelbug1

Hiya, our little dog Izzy advises them to stay at home! Jane

it is bad... imagine it with a ST Bernard

It is bad, but we are coping with our St Bernard.. going to buy more towels tomorrow. Got to be one of the worse shows for weather I have done.

Bob + Sue + Ezzie the St bernard:Blush:

well we are loving it, janes just served up chilli con carni, and then a few beers me thinking. Jaws if your out where are ya?

Where is everyone? Just went to the marquee and noone there:cry:

Well done to the marshalls they have managed to get everyone in with a little help from the tractors , give yourselves a pat on the back sit down and have that well earned drink :thumb::thumb:
See you all tomorrow

Gary and Julie are playing Billie no mates in the tent now waiting for people to join them.

Sonja

Ok, I will walk back up again....

If no one is there this time I will carry on walking to the bar:Rofl1:

So sorry, shattered. No drinks in the marquee for us. Just cooking our dinner! Jane, Bob & Izzy

Just looked in the marquee and drank a bottle of beer with Kevin, Karl Gaz & Julie and Mrs and Mrs Rob1Chelsea1. The only ones brave enough to wade through the mud the tractors have churned up. :Eeek:

We finished late on the stand as we had to buy and erect a new gazebo as our old one was leaking and we'd had enough. We thought we might get away with it when the heavy rain stayed away from 9am till 2pm but then the heavens opened and its wetter muddier than ever

Were now back in the van having an early night. We had a great day selling our Broken Link Removedtoday, we knew they would be popular but at times the stand looked like a feeding frenzy and we sold more than we would have hoped to, :BigGrin:heres hoping for as good a day at the show tomorrow and a few more in the marquee for a beer tomorrow night; See you then :thumb:

This is our first "Fun" meet and I must say we were made to feel very welcome. The marshalls were excellent and we managed to get in without sinking too far. As for getting out......

A few lessons already learnt. Those square rubber mat things that have served us so well do not work in the mud. When you tread on them in your socks you get lots of pretty mud worms squishing through the holes. As for levelling ramps....

Despite the risk of trench foot, we have ventured out across no mans land. The knack is to pull your collar in tight as you enter the trade tents to prevent freezing cold water running off the tent and down your back. Brrrr.

Bought some nice flashing led lights for my wheels from a fellow called Jim and a bar for hanging up wet coats in the shower. Watched the Joe Loss Orchestra last night (thought he was dead?) and waded back to the deep end to see if anybody was in the marquee, but it was probably a bit late by then.

Plans are to go over the top again this morning to enter the bog snorkelling competition. Can't wait for the naked mud wrestling that we were promised!
