Outrageous Pricing!

I have just found this haven from £5 a night.View attachment 908621
Interesting! I have just tried booking my 6m camper for 10days at Seaview, Weymouth on the 7th Oct 2024 for one person.

I was quoted £79 for 7 nights, while still a bargain, it's not the 10 nights for £55 as shown.
Expensive these utilities! 😀

PS
Park Dean are NOT Haven and the service I received from their Support people when, after I had made a minor error on my initial booking form, was TERRIBLE!
They wanted me to cancel, lose my FULL payment and book again.
I cancelled and vowed NEVER to have anything to do with that company ever again! 😡

Have you tried ringing them

No, because I don't really want to stay there again but it was the only site I recognised from the list you displayed.

By the way, see my edit to my last post, it might save you some grief when dealing with Park Dean?

Thanks mate but not really interested in either , I am more interested in the pub stops that I put a link to , please note this is not britstops.
We did two tours in UK last year, one in Norfolk and one in Wales, completely on pub stops, and will certainly be doing it again if we go this year.
Although it can be a little dear in the pubs it is only the same as being on a site as we would eat out anyway.

Wouldn't touch Parkdean. They make their money from ripping off static owners as we found out to our cost before we got motorhome.

All sites rip off static owners, been there done that , worst financial decision I ever made.
If anyone is thinking of getting one , please don't.
I think it does depend on the site and the owners, the in-laws remain happy with theirs and have had one on the park for > 10 years now.
But then they virtually live there, so the annual fees (5k this year) are actually covered by the benefits they get included gym, golf, swimming as well as fitness classes and social activities which in reality more than make up for the site rent. They have a mid-sized 2 bedroom lodge which is nicer than their house (and also is cheaper to run/heat).

I would say however that people on the other side of the fence (park next door across coast) don't have such a good deal. And the static lodges on even their park is a terrible investment given site rent there is 11K and rising for mich of same benefits.

For people visiting only at weekends ... they are a terrible investment in general; ditto people thinking they can rent them out when not being used, terrible.

But the in-laws one is also open all year, doesn't attract council tax -> however only opens on fri-sun in February, when near the entire park residents are all in Spain (mostly the same resorts!).

If you buy a "new" lodge or static at a site though, yes, it's a total rip off in all cases.

It what one has to pay if one books in JULY, AUGUST & BANK HOLIDAYS!!

Why not holiday in June, similar weather at 1/2 - 3/4 the price?
As both my wife and I are teachers we don't have that option. Once we retire we'll be taking full advantage of all the benefits going outwith the high season offers.

I've corrected that for you! 😀

It has become madness in regards to pricing, a basic campsite just on the outskirts of Nottingham (previously Thorntons Holt - now called Nottingham - Camping and Caravanning Club Site) is £65/n or £55/n if a member, it was £30/n when privatley owned and from what I can see they havn't changed anything.. complete rip off.
I've been going there for years and my van is stored there so I'm still visiting regularly, I've not looked at prices this year as they have no idea when they are opening....already gone past 4 opening days 🤣
CCC have spent a fortune on the site already but a lot of it is underground so you wont see it...apparently almost everything about the site was not up to CCC spec so makes you wonder why they bought it 🤷‍♂️
This time last year I was there for a long period as I was between homes, site was fine as it was........it will be interesting to see what it evolves into

It's been a tough few days, especially with 160+ new first year's up from thier primary schools for a 3 day visit. You forget how noisy and excitable they can be. I'm surprised I wasn't even more illegible in that post than I was.

Roll on the holidays, just 3 more weeks to go.

They all do if you have no residence on which you pay council tax.
Alledgedly, but there were a lot of people on these sites who suddenly ended up renting property when the site closed for 5 months due to the covid lockdowns. The one my inlaws use skirts right on the edge of allowable law, and most "residents" may have a house, but they are often rented to subtenants.

Looks like prices are about the same then and nowhere near your guestimate, 5 nights less than 30 quid a night. Not saying its good value but hard standing and electric included.View attachment 908615

Mine wasn't guestimates at all, try adding a couple kids, 2 nights - weekend (which is what we used to do) £65/n non member or £55/n member
