Not a great deal to report today as we decided to have a lazy day, we had a lovely walk round the town and surrounding area before stopping for lunch. It’s been really sunny with sudden gusts of wind, thankfully we had our Jomax windbreaker for sitting outside the van.

Tomorrow is forecast to be windy so we have decided to start our trip back to Rotterdam, we’ll aim for about 4 or 5 hours tomorrow then decide what we’ll do Friday.

Oh well it’s getting near the end of our trip, as the forecast was gusts of winds today we thought we’d do a few miles north. Up early and arrived in Beaune before lunch, after lunch we went a wander round town as the Aire is only 5 mins from centre. Thankfully luck was on our side and we missed the heavy showers, certainly worth a stop if travelling north or south as the Aire is well placed for the motorway.

Same idea tomorrow, up early and stop early afternoon and leave ourselves around 3 hours to Rotterdam on Saturday.

Another great travel blog - thank you! I’ve enjoyed following your travels. Beaune is still on our radar but all depends on the weather …
It’s certainly worth stopping at even if only on way south or north, the Aire cost €8 and was pretty full, city is 10min easy walk as are loads of restaurants and a Carrefore next door.

That’s it for another few months, we’ve really enjoyed our time down in Provence, some of the cycling routes we’ve done have been stunning.
Hopefully some of the information will be help to others, we spent our last night in an Aire on the edge of Brasschaat. The Aire was ideal but could do with updating their facilities but would recommend for a night or two plus it’s free, we walked into town and had a lovely meal to finish off the holiday.
Now parked up close to port at Rotterdam.
Aire and county park on edge of park.

Loved seeing all the places we know on your trip. Beaune one of our favourite places. Our French trip due to start on Wednesday is postponed due to Liam having to have an operation fairly quickly and he has been advised not to travel away from home or drive. Despite me doing the vast majority of the driving we are being sensible and following medical orders!
D & G Infirmary A & E Sunday moring - Liam seen, all tests known to man done, specialist consultant consulted and home in 4 hours. We are so lucky here.
Hope Lorraine has as efficient service on Friday.
Off now to unload the MH😞

We never book in advance as we tend to decide where to depending on forecast, we have been staying on the camping car Aire for the last 4 nights at €13 a night including ehu. If you haven’t joined I’d recommend them, you pay £5 for your card and just top it up when needed, this can be done at the gate or before you leave home. The good thing is you can see the spaces on their app, for instance we’re heading to the one below today. As you can see it has 9 spaces left, this is handy as saves you turning up to find it full View attachment 747686

You can do it via the website or download an App, we find the app so much easier.

Website https://www.campingcarpark.com/en_GB/search/areas/map

App in Apple Store is top one in photo, 2nd photo is what app looks like

If you go onto the app and select an Aire you’d like to stay at, it will then tell you the spaces left. If you’re in the app, select near a place and a blank screen will open. You now have two options, you can type in the search box at top or hit the arrow too left and this will take you to a list, top of this page hit map and just select where you’re going. When on holiday you can select near me and then map if required.

As you can see it shows the availability

This photo shows the Aire I selected has no space.

Useful post lorger - I’ve never been sure if it was 4/17 available or 4/17 taken but your post shows the first number is what is currently available.

Our other trip to France may still be on for late August/September thanks to our NHS! Liam's op will be Thursday (3 1/2 weeks from suspecting he will need it) with a taxi to take us to Hairmyres Hospital tomorrow. Hopefully this will enable him to recover in good time for the trip. I dread to think what the health ins. will be

Today the weather has been even better, we were very thankful of the slight breeze especially on the uphill bits. We managed a 29 mile loop stopping off at La Pont Julien, Bonnieux, Lacoste and Menerbes and back to the van, not bad going considering I’m 12 weeks post op today for my right hip replacement, certainly getting my money’s worth out of it 😂😂
We’re going to move on to Apt tomorrow and discover some of the villages around there.

Can certainly recommend that area, it was our first time there and we loved it. Didn’t attempt to cycle up as I was 12 weeks post op for new hip, I plan on going back to give it a go.
