Is there a UK quarantine requirement for you now?We travelled back from Germany yesterday (Sunday). I was expecting quiet roads but actually think they were slightly busier than a normal Sunday. No form because no printer. No hassle but did see 2 Gendarmerie Motorcycles at Lille that seemed to be in the process of stopping a car travelling on the other carriageway .
I took the view that I had a Eurotunnel crossing booked in a few hours time and couldnt reasonably be expected to have access to a printer so could probably argue it. I imagine they would be checking more coming away from Calais??
AfAIK Germany is still on the good list.Is there a UK quarantine requirement for you now?
It is a long sea voyage from Germany to the UK.AfAIK Germany is still on the good list.
Edit
If you were thinking of dropping in for a cuppa you re very welcome
You are allowed to transit countries on the naughty list as long as nobody leaves or joins. In truth its pretty easy, its only 5 hours from Aachen to Calais. We timed it nicely and were exactly 90 minutes early and went straight on the next train - 1 hour earlier than booked FOC.It is a long sea voyage from Germany to the UK.
Recommend Twin lakes on way back! Just north of bordeaux. They have chalets if no accommodation. We have made it up to Burgos from La Cala today. The roads were very quiet. Police were very visible at junctions around Granada. At Madrid, apart from getting stuck behind the cycle race escort, no police to be seen. We got stopped at a road block on the A1 at the entry point to the Burgos region. They had the motorway blocked and were filtering everything, without exception, through an armed road block. We got a quick hello from them and they peered into the car. Others got pulled to parking spaces and looked like they were getting a customs search, unless the dogs the police were using can sniff CV-19 out.
On to France tomorrow so I will update again.
Take care and stay safe all
Many thanks for that. We have a house up in Limousine but, we will certainly bear that in mind when we are trotting around without the MH.
You might want to save your printer ink!Given I have just seen via another thread the Attestation for transiting France I thought people might appreciate the official version as the Eurotunnel does not mirror it reference long distance travel . As the correct version doesn’t .
I think the french version would be more accepted if stopped and if heading home then add you are transiting to return home as per March . I think yodeli did a good translation lol
Nope. I am on a site for the duration, with my legitimate presence as a full timer confirmed to the site operator and by them to the local authorities. In other words I am remaining "at home" for the lockdown. And you are one of them ?
BTW the French website has an option to generate an attestation on your phone, which you can show.We travelled back from Germany yesterday (Sunday). Indeed it does as long as you are tech savy enough to find it after you have completed it lolBTW the French website has an option to generate an attestation on your phone, which you can show.
I have a fix for that - generate it on the phone, then leave on the screen and don't touch the phone until I have finished my walk.Indeed it does as long as you are tech savy enough to find it after you have completed it lol
Ah ok will try that. Thank you xxI have a fix for that - generate it on the phone, then leave on the screen and don't touch the phone until I have finished my walk.
Mine is Apple :-(If you have an Android phone, once you have completed the form on your phone and pressed the button to send, the notification will be in the notification area at the top of the screen, swipe your finger down from top of screen to display it.
No idea what happens with Apple device.
No I am serious, leave it on your browser. Open another tab if you need to browse something else. On an iPhone, press the home button to go and use something other than the browser.Ah ok will try that. Thank you xx
Thanks . will practice before I go out the next time lolNo I am serious, leave it on your browser. Open another tab if you need to browse something else. On an iPhone, press the home button to go and use something other than the browser.
As Vipar says you can save it to your photos, or you can save it to pdf,
Or hand your phone to anyone who asks for the attestation, and let them find it!
Think they are being more diligent than last time . Update from M Castex Thursday night as was muted at the beginning . If any concessions will only be for commerce ( which they also said at the beginning ) So not expecting to get freedom any time soon lolBTW I have just done my 1 hour walk nearby, and the Gendarmerie were out checking attestations, including dates/times and ID.
Flics and humour don’t go togetherI would be tempted to write on the Attestation 'I have Alzheimer's and am lost. Can you take me home please'
Do Flics have a sense of humour?
