Oh heck ... yet another very, VERY expensive show ...

We never use the driver/passenger door, only ever use the hab door.
The footwell is a useful place to keep 5ltr drinking water bottles and the electric hookup cable though.

Only use ours at fuel stops and sometimes when servicing.

Lovely looking van with a BaD DaWG registration
Hope you enjoy your fettling and travels with your new van.

We remember our Carthago day so vividly. Paying cash for it by debit card and it cost three times the amount more than our house when we bought that in 1983. I hope the van brings you the joy that such a high price purchase should. Good travels and great memories

Regards
Peter

First problem found ... ?

The dealer did us a spare wheel as part of the deal so there's a nice new (steel rim) one with correct matching tyre on sitting in the MH garage, great stuff ... er ... no ... they've given us one for the heavy chassis rather than the light chassis so the PCD (stud spacing) is wrong! They're ordering us the correct rim and once we have it we'll get our local tyre place to swap the tyre over and then the other rim can go back to them, they're paying for it all to be done and we have a tyre place a couple of mins away so not a major issue but its a good job we checked as we wouldn't be able to use it if needed.

Might be an idea for other funsters to check their spare wheel is on the correct rim!

Oh, and I'm 'on strike' at the moment ... hubby decided to make some 'comments' about something yesterday so I downed tools and today I'm having a day of leisure! :dance2:

He's just had a go at putting the Gaslow system in although he's never done it before (yes I will be checking it!) and is currently sorting out the bedding and is going to make them up. I think he now appreciates the faffing etc involved when doing stuff in a MH and that it's not quite as easy as in a normal home ... he might keep his mush shut next time! :clap2:

Play nicely now! ?

.... hubby decided to make some 'comments' about something yesterday

Was it something like this:

"Christ, Mel, the addition of the Gaslow and a spare tyre will take us over the axle weight. I honestly wished we had not wasted our money on this lightweight bubble box and had kept our lovely Globecar instead".

I'm right, aren't I :D2;)

Come on then Mel tell us what it's like to have a proper Motorhome at last?
Dunno ... ask me after I've had a holiday in it and forgotten where everything got put! :ROFLMAO:

One good thing - my nice fluffy leopard pattern cab seat covers fitted the captains chairs with a little bit of modification. I took the top seat belt bolt out of the mount, put the covers on then carefully opened up the side seam of the covers so they fitted round the mount, secured the covers then reattached the top of the seat belt and voila, jobs a good-un! As we always have a separate fluffy leopard print cover on top of them too which can be quickly removed for washing the actual covers won't need to be taken off very often ... they do look a bit 'Bet Lynch' though! :D

Don't suppose I can still use some trainer socks for the arm rest covers though, it just wouldn't do would it! :giggle:

Jesus woman you will be putting fluffy dice in it next.
You don't stand a chance of getting in the Carthago owners club.

From what I've read that might not be a bad thing! :ROFLMAO:

No fluffy dice but my collection of stuffed animals will end up in there somewhere ... might have to get some more and try filling up the dash like some a-class owners do!!! :clap2:

Be nice to hear your review on the quality after a winters use, storage, warmth, winterisation, comfort, general quality, driving etc

I think I'd better have a word with George ( he founded the Carthago owners club) I might see him in the next couple of weeks I know where he is hiding in Spain. :ROFLMAO:

I've had to buy some more bedding as the sheets etc as I altered the ones in the Globecar to fit the single beds in there so no more red sheets and duvet covers with gold stars. :(

Instead, as we had some gift cards for M&S, I bought bedding from them and went a bit more 'subtle:

White 'Essentials' fitted sheets, only £6 for king size ones:

'Willow' pattern duvet covers (double size) at £12.50 a set (duvet cover & 2 pillow cases); I went for the white which pate grey on and they look very nice indeed (could've got blue or green instead).

That's a relief I'll be able to sleep tonight.

Don't go frightening him otherwise if I do apply to join he'll have the heebie-jeebies!

I think I'll get a deepest sympathy card for George & Denise now, just in case.

Now that you have an A Class they can go on ‘the sideboard’ (aka the dresser) - the expansive area between the dash and the windscreen (Or does it slope massively like on some Carthagos?).

Ours has a fair bit of a slope to aid front visibility apparently, not flat as with most A-class MHs so not quite so easy to keep them where I put them. I've been thinking about covering the area with a piece of fabric/thin carpeting in case we get reflections in the windscreen and also to protect is as I'm sure hubby will use it as a dumping ground! If I do I can put some Velcro on my animals' bottoms to stop them flying around ... I mean the STUFFED animals, not my dogs!

It gets worse ... I'd have to stick the 'hook' part of the Velcro on them! :giggle:

Anything is possible with Mel at the helm.
:moon2:

I do have my reputation to uphold Lenny ... some may say I'm weird ? others that I'm wonderful! :blusher:
