Number of days allowed to stay in Eurozone countries

And they are doing such a good job I bet you are pleased with their handling of the pandemic
Ach its not their fault its care homes, nursing staff , labour .....the eu , people not following the guidance fault ....they are doing a most excellent job

Of killing lots of old folk

Roll on winter they will do even better

Now who who's for a pint ?

To my knowledge, a tourist Visa may be an option. Or just some bloody good planning for each set of 90 days.

I also wonder how it will be policed and which countries will collect any fines imposed? If you stay for 89 days in france, then 2 days in Spain, then leave via a ferry would the Spanish fine you and collect the money?? Or would you just not be allowed into mainland Europe for 180 days? Do they have 'systems' that talk to each other for the calculations or will it, as I assume be simple passport stamping at entry and exit??

Do the rules allow one country not to enforce it?

The 'main' tourist industry will not be massively impacted by the loss of a few thousand who would want to stay past the 90 days limit, so it wont surprise me if nothing is done to ease access outside of the schengen rules.

When you enter Spain or leave you are actually dealing with the Schengen area not an individual state which is why it’s unlikely that Spain for example will ‘come to some arrangement’. It’s also likely that for the first time you will get a Schengen stamp in your passport much the same as an Australian for example. The digital system is not due to be working until 2022. As I understand it the 90 day stuff is not even up for discussion in the talks this year. Lot of anecdotal stuff about non EU people leaving Schengen having overstayed and hit with a fine and a ban and Germany is pretty strict with this it appears.

Financial advisor eh.They said it would drop to that level back in 2016 after the referendum. Some gloomy negative people about.BUSBY😃😃

Excuse me, but if you are dependent on UK pensions and income the drop in the value of Sterling is very noticeable. I don't think there is a 'standard' Third World Country exchange rate; the pound has dropped from it's pre -Referandum rate of +/- 1.31 to an average of 1.14 to the euro. Six months before the Pound was trading at 1.40.

It is 34% dwn on what the rate should be if we had gone in at the begining & what we aere all getting then. It should have been fixed at that rate for entry at any other time. I fixed my rate for business at that in case we ever entered with the liar trying to get us in at 1,20€ or less.
Your realists were wrong about sterling last time.
How can we be wrong when it is still 34% down now?

It was about the same in 2009,,,wonder why,,BUSBY,,

as one door closes another opens ? CANZUK free movement ?

Australia and NZ don't seem too keen to enter into free movement with the UK. You can understand why, with the UK's population dwarfing theirs they could end up overwhelmed.

Covid notwithstanding, NZ usually allows UK tourists to stay for 6 months with no bother apart from an online ETA, so pretty generous. The default for Australia is 90 days for an online ETA, I think -- presumably you can extend with a proper tourist visa.

Then again, it's a long way to drive your van there :-)

Most of the deaths in Care Homes was caused by idiotic greedy owners taking in patients from hospital without testing and quarantine. They are private businesses that could have refused to take any more patients..My aunt's care home closed its doors from day one. Not one case of Covid19.BUSBY..
