I agree, UK can be good. It's the unreliable weather that is the issue, particularly October/November which was the time period we were looking at.I know people knock touring in the UK but I’ve found that doing very short close to home tours can be very enjoyable and give you a micro break and change of scenery
Go on then, tell us, I'm sure everyone is wondering what you did. Might help prevent others doing the same.
Was it man made fibre as well ( the shirt)?Used some liquid accelerant to 'get the bbq going'. It flamed up massively, caught my shirt on fire.
No, cotton fortunately. Was it man made fibre as well ( the shirt)?
I suppose that given what happened there was a little bit of luck on your side, I would hate to think how bad it would have been with man made fibres! No, cotton fortunately.
Might I suggest using wood wool if you want to get your bbq alight! Only need a few and don’t contain any accelerant. Been using them for years on my Komado.Used some liquid accelerant to 'get the bbq going'. It flamed up massively, caught my shirt on fire.
VXman I saw your reply to the thread above, how are you also? Hope you are on the mend?I feel for you and understand your disappointment. I'm also a recently retired teacher and had a similar sudden halt to all our plans for the Summer and Autumn. (my post at the time linked below)
Wishing your husband all the best for a full and quick recovery.
No more touring for a while
3 weeks ago I did something silly with a BBQ in my garden and ended up with serious burns to the whole of my right arm, hand and chest. 2 visits to the hospital theatre, a week in hospital, skin grafts and 5 out patient visits later I am very slowly getting better but won't be able to go...www.motorhomefun.co.uk

Glad to hear you are improved in yourself and managing to get out, that in itself helps I'm sure. I wish you well in your recovery and hope that you receive the best care for you. Keep us updated of your progress, stay positiveGetting there slowly. Some areas are pretty much healed but the hand is still sore and unusable. Had isseus with my forearm (overgranulation) so that's not really improved at all. So some ups, some downs, much improved in myself and getting out and about a bit but still can't drive and having to visit Stoke Mandeville every 5 days.
Thanks for asking.
Nomex would be fineWas it man made fibre as well ( the shirt)?
