Been and seen it today, loved the layout and the quality was obvious, a bit of tlc new upholstery and flooring would bring it bang up to date, it had a habitation check last week and I read that, all clear for damp. ( not sure how reliable that is as it just had ticks no % figures) They were fitting a new skylight window in the loo.
But there was a crack in the windscreen not MOT failure area but definitely an issue as bound to go at some point.
plus I think it had a odour of dampness if you know what i mean.
it was right in many ways but not quite on the money. Glad we had a look though as it has helped us know what we like and Don’t like a Little bit more. This one did’nt have an oven and we do really want one, ( we used have a boat and used the oven i there quite a bit)
Thanks for all the comments they were really helpful on the whole. They said the last few months they have sold more MHs than ever before, they usually have 40+ in stock and they only had about 10. The market is a bit mad at the moment so we may be looking for a while yet

Be aware that any van that has sat around in hot weather without use will smell. the water in the drain traps evaporates so you are smelling the waste tank

Well we did think it could be that, but there were some marks on the wall covering in a couple of areas that were definitely water marks not sure where that was coming from and it felt dry. There were just too many things that weren’t right, and when I’m paying thousands I want it to be as near as I can to meet our needs/ wants. Payload was an issue too, less than 400kg so not great, yes we could have up plated it I guess.

Hi, we have an Arto 59b, 1999. It's absolutely ticked all the boxes for us. Build quality, space, storage, shower room size, comfy bed. Previous owner added quite a few extras, rear air suspension, beefed up front springs, cobra alarm, cruise control, rear camera, solar panel... I've just made sure it's sound all round which it is and have added Michelin camping tyres, a must , and 240ah agm leisure batteries with B2B charger. My mechanic friend is amazed at its condition and quality. 65k on the clock.
Great for off grid, which is our main use, or was!!.
Couple of niggles, can be noisy at higher speeds and the double glazed front side windows are a nightmare for night driving as they clearly reflect the opposite side of your view. Junctions can be seriously scary.

All the MHs in this price range have very dodgy decor but nothing a bit of TLC can’t sort out I don’t like the upholstery either but I think of it like buying a house you don't have to live with the decor you buy it with. As long as the base is good and mechanics then we can sort the rest.
I agree about it being expensive but they all are so it’s on a par with the market.

Just because it's 17 years old doesn't necessarily mean the underneath would be in bad condition. I have a Bedford CA Dormobile that's 57 years old that I'm renovating but the chassis and rest of the underside is in fantastic condition because it was undersealed from new. There are plenty of older motorhomes out there that have been nurtured from new and I've had 18! I would rather have an older quality motorhome than a newer lesser quality model. Just make sure you take your time and go over it and under it closely, and if you like it squeeze them down as far as you can!

very true Jim but he did ask about pitfalls and “if” he wanted to change the interior to bring it up to date, then as it’s been pointed out earlier it’s around £1500 apparently, so he needs to figure that into the negotiations

that said he may love it that much he may offer above asking

Here are my reservations:
The dinette layout means that you can’t use the seating as a chaise lounge. In other words, you can’t spread out and relax watching that big TV. In fact, that TV can only be viewed by two people sitting bolt upright with at table in front of them. Not very comfortable, I suggest.
The dinette also prevents one of the captain’s chairs from being any use because it swivels into the back panel of the dinette seat.
There is no oven or grill. How will you make your toast?
The fridge is too small. A motorhome of that size should have a full fridge/freezer.
There is very little bench top space for meal preparation. This could be improved by putting a cover over the second sink. (Why two sinks?)
The cupboards above the cab will be very small. Better to have a larger luton.
I can’t quite tell from the photos but I think the bed would be difficult to access (and certainly difficult to make) especially for the person sleeping against the wall.
The above points are simply my observations and may not bother you. We all use our motorhomes in different ways. Personally, we go away for long stretches to remote areas and it’s important for us to have a well-stocked fridge and freezer and we also like to be able to put our feet up on the seating after we’ve been for a walk or if we’re reading books, etc. (Note, I didn’t say “watch TV”. That’s because the TV here is not worth watching).
