There is a really good, informative and well-researched FB page about Animal Health Certificates (AHC) with a map of reasonably priced vets who know their stuff. The whole process is ridiculously bureaucratic for vets who have to fill in several pages so if they don't do them often they can make mistakes. Check it out here The nearest vets on this map are Battle, Crowborough or Havant, depending on where you're coming from. A reasonable price across all the vets tends to be about £130
Whilst there are a lot of pages it is all cut and paste, the vet doesn’t do it, it’s a clerical exercise. The vet signs. It has nothing to do with the actual animal.
I had quite a discussion with our vet before we got an EU passport.
My main gripe was why were the last 5 pages of the AHC photocopies of the UK passport which was invalid hence why I was forced to get the AHC?
Obviously it was not his fault but he was in front of me!
Simply another excuse to rip us off.
