New year --at the races

I am getting my gear out for the New Year and I will be dressing up......

I will either look like a right Txat or dead cool. It all depends on what Ebay lets me buy...

I thinks its now official,

There will be 1970s dress up people partying New Year eve.

So some ofyou best dig in the back of your wardrobe, you kept it htere because you knew it would come back in to fashion :Rofl1:

Is there a problem for those of who do not want to dress up just put our new years eve garb on.

You're right Paul. The trouble is that not many of us can get into the gear any more.

Cheers,

Jock & Rita.

no Dressing up is completely optional.

I say the same to Nikki on a Saturday night :Wink:

I wasn't going to tbh. However, I just saw something on Ebay and thought, " I can not resist" If anyone has a size 8 pair of platform shoes hiding away, please let me know, I need them for my outfit.

Are there any Bridge players attending the rally, if so would they fancy a game over the weekend.
Sid & Denny

I'm not a bridge player, but love the occasional board game (Waddington's type or Scrabble). Anybody else interested? It'd be a real treat to get the full quota of us playing a game. :thumb: I'll pack a game if it's likely that others may be interested.

We will need to organize a games session in the heated room at our disposal. We will bring our Trival Pursuit game 1970/1980 of course . On The box it sayes 2-36 players so plenty of campers can join in.

I love playing Scrabble!

Barrie wants to play tiddlywinks or Kerplunk

TWISTER! That would be fun!

Can you pack your Scrabble then Janine? I've only got the Deluxe Edition which has an enormous box as the board doesn't fold. Not very practical in my m/h. If I packed that I'd have to leave Jess at home!

I'll bring the Scrabble, Jane, and look out for some 'vintage' games in the charity shops

Barrie says we should play 'Cut the Tail off the 'Donkey'

40 Snailtrailer

Adding snailtrailer to the list.

We now have 40 units.

I think this means we are now full.
I know we have enough hardstanding for about 25-30 vans and I know at least 15 Funsters that will be happy wherever they go.
The grass is good, laid on hard gravel anyway after all its a caravan site. The pitches are excellent.
Preference for the hard standing will be given to those with disability needs and I have places planned for the real heavy vans. This will not be a mud bath, :Eek!: please don't panic  but its great we can now get 40 funster vans on a new year party. If we could take more we would do.

We have entertainment, with the Great Barrie"ondo" accompanied by the wonderful Janine, a sort of "Peters and lee" tribute but with eyes and ukele :Rofl1:

We have a Tom Jones tribute with the great Welsh Wizzard the "Drunk Sherrif"
although I can't give a time for that we have to await the moment.

This is followed by James Jim ringleader Brown as the great "Bud Flanagan" (you might need to google him)

That looks like the entertainment list for new years eve.

Friday will be a "Mulled wine reception" and welcome
Saturday & Sunday will be chill nights and then
Monday will be Race day followed by Sparkling wine reception american supper followed by New years eve party time. :thumb:

jees wer'e going to be so busy, just glad that we have roped in Mrs Bungy and Mrs Edge to help out :Rofl1:

So I will now start a reserve list.
I then ask if for any reason you can not make the meet. Please be kind to those that can and let me know by PM please. That way we can give someone else a chance to come.

So so looking forward to entertaining you all. :thumb:

May I also remind people that the use of " Chinese lanterns" is strictly forbidden at Fun meets due to their danger and environmental concerns. Just a reminder as its new year when they seem to appear. cheers.
How long is the reserve list am i in with a chance or is that being too optimistic

Amanda has loads of board games she can bring but dont forget she is up to challenge anyone for a game of triominoes.:thumb:

Hi Paul, just a thought, but with it being very close to the Racecourse, will we be able to take our dogs?? We dont want to arrive and have them refused.

Ginny and Mike

Dogs are welcome but obviously must be kept on leads, they are not allowed in to the race course area on the race day and would have to remain on the site due to obviously the Horses getting scared.*

This is from the first page hope it helps

Racecourse fun

Hi Paul, just a thought, but with it being very close to the Racecourse, will we be able to take our dogs?? We dont want to arrive and have them refused.

Ginny and Mike

A doggie tale.

I am a little and somewhat bemused
Only if you put them in the stalls they can be refused
A saddle for each and we will have some fun
Watching Ginny & Mike ride into the sun
Down the side rails and over the hills
into the turn with lots of spills
The dogs full of energy racing along
The riders trying to give us a song
Lots of fast action and even better yet
When there off we can all have a jolly good bet
Odds on Ginny winning the race and cup
With poor ol' Mike being the runner, up

He forgot his pills again!! :Rofl1::Rofl1::Rofl1:
