My agreement has similar wording but I can’t find the Appendix 2 it refers to. I decided to phone Camper Assist and first spoke to Customer Services, who asked me to call the Roadside Assistance option because they would have the current details immediately to hand. This option took me to the UK RAC where I was told the Fiat contract with them included more than just issues arising from faulty materials and workmanship. It also covered punctures and recovery after accidents. I don’t feel the need to take out separate cover before the end of the 5 years.
Thanks Pausim will try them again first If I ever need to.

Don't forget your arm and a leg.
You'll need it to fill it up!

Good to see some brightly coloured motorhomes, not so sure about the matt slurry coloured one I saw a few weeks ago.

Make sure they have gas and water in the van so they can show everything is working. agree with staying close by for the first night an love the colour. 🍷to enjoying your new van.
Yes, if no gas get hold of a cylinder of the appropriate size so it can be shown working OK. Water tank reasonably loaded but do not overload ie full as it weighs in kg what is in litres.

The baby has landed!
Thank you for all the advice. So helpful! The dealership thought they had old timers who had been vanning (is that a word?) since leaving the womb! tigger_van is ready to toot toot and tour!
Next question will be what gadgets do I really need!

Don’t do what we did! Drove our existing van to the dealer as we were px’ing it, I had my toolbox and trolley jack on board-just in case. Did the handover and drove home-only 75 miles luckily-2 days later realised that my tools and trolley jack were still in the old van……’Doh!

How exciting for you! When we collected our new ENC Touring L CV 3 years ago, 500 miles from home, we wrote loads of notes in a small hard covered notebook. We still occasionally refer to it even now. Just a thought.

We were in Pembrokeshire at the weekend - first trip and met a couple who are waiting for their Malibu… they have another year to go and we’re already excited!!
Have fun… we are so excited to get back out in it!!

Maybe some else has mentioned it check the dealer has taxed the motorhome before driving it home.
There was a folder full of things to read and check but I was getting a bit overpowered by it all and just wanted to get on my way.
The dealer contacted me the day after to apologise and sort it out. I only drove 100 miles with no road tax.

Probably hadn’t registered it either, it can be checked online.

Interesting this. At least I got a screen shot of the DVLA site so I have proof they taxed it etc. I talked to my local Fiat Professional place today about buying the extended warranty. The service manager told me that their process is to upload a scan of the V5C to Fiat to prove the initial warranty date. They need that before you can purchase the extended warranty. So, I don't have the V5C yet, but the service manager was going to email Fiat to register my request as I'll probably miss the 15 day window on buying the extended warranty. He tells me this is a common problem.

If it's a brand new car, be sure to check carefully for any scratches or dents BEFORE you leave. I once bought a new Ford Fiesta and was lucky to spot a dent before I left so the situation could be handled. Would've been a completely different story if I had found it few hours later or the next day.
