New Gas conundrum! Fitting filler in locker door?

I emailed Gaslow. Very fast, helpful and friendly response. Carl said installation looks fine but suggested an elbow fitting on the door and the rear cylinder.
Also loosen off the front pigtail and release the tension in it 👍
Retighten without letting it twist .

Isn't there any room for it to one side or other of the door. I've just got about three inches on my Burstner
yes but that means going through the wall of the motorhome itself? There's a good space that would suit under the external gas point which is under the bed locker, but Id be scared it would affect the warranty on water ingress. At least if theres a water issue with a locker door it can be easily enough replaced?

I have the connector inside the gas locker. I thought about fitting it to the aluminium sideskirt, but having just wiped off two orange marker lights on a country roadside bank, I am now glad I did not. Do not like the idea of the connector fitted to the door with the repeated flexing of the hose. Did not want to put it through the sidewall higher up as it would have meant high pressure gas in the habitation area outside of the metal box. One solution may be to fit a small door or hatch to the locker door that may not be so obvious compared with opening the main hatch door. In truth have never had any problem at a service station using the main hatch.

No. You just fit a discreet plastic louvred vent over the hole. On the inside as well as the outside if you feel you must.
What could be more normal than a vent in a locker door?
My gas locker door already had two vents when new.

Well that's a clever bit of desgin, fit vents at the top of the locker to vent a gas that is heavier than air.

My gas locker door is in the garage so mounting it there would fill the garage with the blowback gas when filling. The filling point is through the motorhome wall directly into the gas locker, as it was on my previous motorhome. At a convenient height and no problem with the strength of the mounting. All other fillers, water ehu etc are mounted this way so why should gas be done differently.
If the system is removed the filler can be replaced by a vent.

Most vans don’t have any convenient external wall to use and running high pressure gas pipe through the habitation area is not recommended, yes it van be sleeved in vent hose and rubber boots etc .
Many manufacturers have fitted them in PVC ‘s
Without any sleeving / venting !
Trying to replace the filler hoses now they are older is a total nightmare, just as some tanks are mounted so we have to cut them off !
Here’s one of last week’s professional installations
High pressure filler hose in habitation area
Filler pipe under strain / over bent
Gas locker no longer gas tight as lid cut away to allow filler hose entry
Gas locker seal cut away

Yes, that seemed rather odd to me. The locker sides, back and top are plywood so I assume they're just to ventilate it to reduce the possibility of rot by damp. There is a vent in the grp locker floor.

I think that is a good case for name & shame so that others don't go there.

Whilst I don't disagree with your observations, Its the first time I have ever heard 37mbar referred to as high pressure:giggle:

No mention of 37mb fill pressure is around 140 psi can be higher.
140 psi is 9,653 mb.

Yes I would never run the pipe through the habitation area. In both of my cases there was enough external wall of the gas locker to fit the filler through the van wall and straight into the gas locker without passing the habitation area.

If these gas fittings were in a domestic property they would have to meet all kinds of regulations but in a motorhome it seems a bit vague.
How meany self builds have had there gas system checked for safe fitting. If I did swap to re fill bottles I would probably fit it myself as safe as I feel it needs to be.
