New camperstop near Cartagena

Well @jumartoo my darling you’ve stirred up a hornets nest here :LOL:
I love the term FLT, it’s purely a MF term I’ve never heard it before anywhere else and yes we are guilty if that’s the word of being FLT’s  but to get so worked up about it in my mind is total nonsense.
@oppy has been a member since 2014 and has posted only 84 times and had to ask in post #23 of this thread what an FLT was so I take it he doesn’t read much on here otherwise he would understand that term is used very loosely for anyone who doesn’t pay an overnight fee be it a free aire, lay-by, Britstop, or legally at the side of the road.
Chill my friend and be an FLT to your hearts content (y)

At a pound each Sandra ??????????????? :D2
Just for you Peter :-)

There are times when I wonder if this is the friendly forum. Someone posts some info that might be of interest to some, and out come the trolls, complaining that a few €€€'s are going to break the bank. Get a life. Sometimes it's better to keep your mouth shut than to reveal yourself as an unpleasant troll.
Perhaps you should take your own advice.
No one has said anything derogatory about the site we have just commented that is is expensive for an Aire it is not a campsite it is an Aire/Camper stop but they are charging campsite money.

Only because you locals are too tight to use it.:D
Anyway it will be toll-free in a couple of years as will the rest of the AP7 if what I’ve read is right.

It doesn't go anywhere anyone wants & was specifically built to allow access to the coast from San Javier down to Águilas for Warren Buffets cabo cope development ,that nobody wanted , & now fortunately will never happen .
80% of all the land that was to be appropriated as " legally scheduled for development" has been put back to its correct status of 'protected' which it was before & which was illegally changed. So it will remain as a road to nowhere & yes at one point the section the other side of Mazarron was the dearest toll road section in Western Europe.

I don't think this is scheduled for toll free for quite a few years.
The AP7 does not become toll free until December 2019 & then only the section from Alicante up to Tarragona.
As for is it dear? ,yes it is. It is the same distance from my house to the refinery at Cartegena using the toll road as to go around using the A7/E15 & down the Murcia-Cartegena Mway. Just 12€ cheaper.
You also have to remember that the spanish will not pay for anything ,even parking , unless they absolutely have to & are forced in to it.

Some of the aires were dearer than sites I saw some in calpe at €27 per night:eek:

I stayed in cartagena twice once over the Easter weekend for the parades etc. Theres a couple of flt spots there and a car park where the guys unnoficially charge €5 to park

Wasn't that busy either but it's quite an expensive town

@PhilandMena they are very fair points, but who on earth can provide a legal, fully insured, proper sewer connections etc facility for less than €15, I am all for cheap, but they surely cant last at that kind of rate per night, unless catering for 100's and then you can keep them (y)

You aren't in the UK David. It is quite easy here to do once you have overcome the paperwork/bureaucracy.
It is a different world here. The average wage where I live is 12k a year. Take no notice of the rubbish posted that the Average spanish wage is 24k. It is when you include the multi -millionaires.
7€/night for waste dump, water , hard standing is not unusual. +3€ for leccy if you want . Plenty of space between units & this is a reasonably new place. The one I met Sandra & Alan on the other day ( which I didn't even know was there ?) @irnbru, was 6€ + everything extra if wanted , on hard standing + a pool.

We winter on a campsite for €12 a night. I wouldn’t stay there normally but I love the town.
At the moment we’re on a site with everything, shop, restaurant, bar, indoor heated pool the lot for €16 a night I love the site but I don’t like the town.
In January/February we will be moving onto a free aire in the mountains for a month or so to a village that is very welcoming and we love.
ACSI is good but you pay exactly how much fits your budget.

We would stop there, it's always nice not paying, but it's also nice when you find somewhere to do all your services catch up on the washing a nice shower and a bonus if we can cycle or Janie fools me and drags me up some mountain. (y)
When acsi is changing up to €20 and not covering high season you are very pleased with €15.

Thanks @jumartoo (n)
Bob.

Oh Dear! Name calling and slagging off members is not the way to get your point across. There has to be a better way.:dance2::dance2::dance2:

David, I and I suspect every other member on here is unable to ascertain if the shit house on a campsite has proper connections but guess there noses would soon detect faulty ones! As for the shit house connections being properly insured that would be a matter for the campsite owner and I'm sure, this does not keep too many members awake during the wee small hours of the night pondering this worrying conundrum. However, I know of a number of very successful campsites in Spain that are making money hand over fist and turning away customers during the winter months because they are booked out and charge well under 15€. In fact, I stayed on one for a month in February this year and it cost me 10€ per day (all in) with unlimited 10 Amp lecce. The campsite had a restaurant, swimming pool, hot water all day long for showers and washing and cleaning maintenance staff who worked there every day and kept the place gleaming. The campsite is immaculate and booked out every year. Don't ask for details as they will not be forthcoming. (for obvious reasons) However, I'm now concerned that at 10€ per day, there shit house may not have proper connections or they may not be insured. I'll email them but suspect they may not understand what I'm talking about. I'll get back to you with their reply.
Isn't 10 euros a day what the site offers for over 15 nights?

A good point but no that is not correct! However, many sites do offer discounts and some of them are substiatial for those who long term over winter. There are many, many places that offer pitches for well under 15 euros per night, particularly Aires. Camper Contact currently shows over 100 Aires that are priced below 10 euros in Spain. Park4night I'm sure will show hundreds more.

Lol Just realised your referring to the site in the first post and not in my post you have responded too. It may well be the case this Aire is offering this discount.I have not checked.

The price of 15Euros is for the large pitch which is 7m x 20m. Most would be happy with the standard pitch, which is 7m x 14m. I must say both are very generous sizes for camper stops or sites in Spain. But seems to be out in sticks a bit.

for heavens sake guys it is €15, with all services including internet

I don't know if this is expensive for the area or Spain in general but it seems very fair to me (y)
Same price nearly of a proper site with all bells and whistles,,BUSBY,,

I did follow most of your trip but not any costs summary but would guess on top of the site costs would be £500 + on fuel, similar on food as a minimum, possibly same amount again on depreciation

I have no problem with staying on a free aire at all, but equally would not drive past such a facility as this for the sake of £14, we have used Spanish sites and can't recall ever paying under €20

Each to their own, but yet again negativity on someone elses thread isn't needed and certainly isn't helpful IMO o_O
Under 20 euros ,,,We have never paid more than 19 euros which is ACSI top price,,,Plenty much cheaper,,BUSBY,,

I have now looked at this site in more detail 12 euros per night for 7 M campers and 25 for up to 20 M. It does say discounts for long stays but not stated on price list.it appers to be in the middle of nowhere

Thanks Jumartoo! Looks good to us and we will definitely try it out in the New Year.
Thx from a pair( occasionally) of FLTs:whistle:

Hi guys......as we no longer associate ourselves with Totana Camperstop due to the unreasonable behaviour of the owners who we assisted for the past 6 years, without any renumeration, I must add, other than to meet some great people like yourselves. Therefore let's meet up wherevever you are, the new Cartagena Camperstop sounds good, let's meet...have a beer, go fishing....catch up and enjoy....that would suit us no end.

Never did get to meet you guys but if I do get away in January ( depends how mum is ) I'd planned to spend a month or two in Spain again before heading east through south of France to Italy etc so might have been around there again.

So where are you guys these days then?

There are many acsi sites that charge tourist tax and offer cr#p pitches away from the winter months, next year pitches go from €19 To €20. Bob.

Not too far away. Halfway between there and the coast. Will be using our van more for sure, either on pay to stay places or FLT'ing
