nasty accident in Skye

Thank you! All fine, a bit shaken up but no serious injuries 😊
Really pleased to hear this, whatever the cause it must have been so scary hope your insurance handles the claim quickly and your back on the road.

CWH Wendy was that your van behind.

So glad that you are both OK.
There are, unfortunately, some good threads on here detailing dealing with insurance and loss from fire to theft through accidents, and even getting good valuation. You might find it useful to join up and benefit from members experiences. It is going to be a tough time for sure to get things sorted and on the road again.
As a supportive collective we would also benefit from your experiences if you feel able to share.
Yes, it is a social media forum and sometimes people jump in with information without knowing all the facts but hopefully that doesn’t put you off.
Best Wishes.

teenyfifi I'm so pleased that you're ok, it's looks really scary. I hope Broadford looked after you well.
please let me know if you need any local info or if you need anybody to go to Macrae's for anything (assuming your moho will be there for some time)

no
Why are folks so judgemental - no one know the facts
exactly
I know this road well, I know how drivers behave on it and how often I've had to 'manage' situations with other drivers (very often, foreign tourists forgetting which side of the road they should be on, or just stopping to take photos) - bad enough in my pvc, it would be much more difficult in a large m/h, though that may well not have been the cause in this instance
but whatever that cause, thank goodness for a 'safe' outcome for the driver and passenger

Or maybe had a medical episode whilst driving... or something broke on the the motorhome... or had to make a sudden change of direction for whatever reason, blow out on front tyre, who knows?
They do, but they've not told us yet (y)

And I’d advise them not to either.
Completely up to them, interesting they've taken the time to join up and refute the speculation though which I guess will continue if they don't let people know what happened or what they think happened to them.
Shame especially if it can act as a warning / help other motorhomers in similar circumstances.

Doubtless there's an insurance claim coming up, so best leave it to them.
'We' have no right to that information.

Why should they most people are advised not to say anything on social media after an accident and I would think teenyfifi has enough to think about with out needing to tell us.
Ive already suggested why, it's about 3 posts ago BUT others then raised the social media aspect etc which is fair enough and I assume only applies if there are other parties involved otherwise there shouldn't be an issue.

Can we be sure that new member teenyfifi who only joined this forum at about 2300 on the day of the accident was actually the driver of that vehicle? Seems a strange time to join a forum.

Can anyone confirm the crashed MH is a Benimar, which is named in teenyfifi's Avatar?

He may be genuine but I wonder.

You can see it in the photo. Why would anyone make it up?
