Loving the pink wig, you should keep that colour when your own hair grows back :)
Best wishes for a good outcome.

Sorry, I’ve only just seen this thread. A positive mental attitude does absolute wonders helping get through the treatments, well done you! I especially love the pink wig.
I was diagnosed December 2014 and have been NED for almost 3 years now. As Janine said, the treatments are doable. Please feel free to PM me anytime xx

Jenny's mom had ovarian cancer, her only symptom being something resembling a very light period and - being over 70 by that time - she went and queued all morning to see her GP. All whipped out PDQ.

Hence when Jenny was mid 40s and needed a hysterectomy (huge fibroids not cancer) she opted to have everything whipped out too - on the grounds that after a hysterectomy she wouldn't be able to see any evidence of ovarian cancer so everyone agreed it was the best plan.

No symptoms of C anywhere else, she eventually went after a few strokes after some years.

A friend's hair grew back curly after chemo, as did Jen's sister's- so it may not all be bad news needing the treatment! You certainly have the right attitude to beat it into submission, and that is half the battle to start with in our book!

Good luck with everything - and yes pink hair really does suit you !

@candyfloss

Oh dear. :( I'm dreadfully sorry to hear this.
Mrs @gerry mcg was diagnosed with germ cell ovarian cancer 8 years ago. Treatment involved surgery, a lot of chemo and eventually stem cell transplants,
It was tough, but we got through it And she is in complete remission now. Back at work as an consultant orthopaedic surgeon, mountain biking, playing tennis etc.
She is not as fit as she was before as a result of the side effects of the high dose chemo she had, but she is still here.
The most important things we learned was to keep away from the Internet. It can put it in a deep hole quite quickly. Rely on the information from your Consultant, nurse specialist and trusted sources such as McMillan for you information.

and second, to try keep a daily routine and positive mental attitude throughout your treatment and take each day and week at a time. Focus on small chunks or the enormity on the task seems overwhelming. Before you know it you are over midway through the treatment and looking to to the end.

Good luck and all the best
Gerry
