MPG

South of Spain and back in a 2009 4250kg 3.0 litre 160bhp Peugeot coachbuilt. Avoided tolls altogether and motorways where possible driving steadily. Over the Pyrenees and not through and we did about 28mpg. Quite respectable I thought.

22mpg on average..
Who ever thought putting a 2.3l engine in a 5..25 t 6 wheeler wants theirs bumps felt !!

'You'll have had your tea then?' For an import from south of the M74, it's still the best method of telling the difference between those from Edinburgh and those from Glasgow ... ;) (y)

If I were to tell you I only live in Edinburgh but am actually from Aberdeen would that make it clearer?

Glasgow - "Come away in and have your tea"
Edinburgh - "Come away in you'll have had your tea"
Aberdeen - "Come away in have you had your tea, we have some nice cakes and buns at reasonable prices"

Agreed. When towing the [sold since last Friday] caravan with Tig {VW Tiguan 150bh TDi] on Cruise Control, I had the instant fuel consumption display showing and the guzzling on the climbs was diesel obesity stuff! I preferred to take back control and use a light right foot to ease Tig up the incline with a gentle, controlled loss of speed [but without tempting onrushing traffic to drive over the boot!].

Just had confirmation that the m/home has been loaded up and is leaving Essex [low loader to save diesel!] for delivery to us tomorrow. First thing will be to get the diesel refilled! Painful for the wallet!

I won't repeat the old one about the difference between an Aberdonian and Mick Jagger then ... ;) (y)

A 280 litre fuel tank would give me palpitations. I'd be asking for 2 years interest free credit for that lot! We hope to be playing with our new [to us] motorhome tomorrow when it arrives from Essex. If you see smoke in Fife, it's likely to be me failing to understand how everything works and expressing my frustration with the occasional expletive ... And Elaine will stand by calmly, enquiring gently whether my verbal vulgarities have a] made the situation better; b] made no difference; or c] made the situation worse because my blood pressure has risen but the m/home challenge remains unresolved ... :ROFLMAO:

Checked ours on a run to Spain in 2017-8 and it came in at 31mpg, not tried it since - Fiat Ducati(o) 150 manual. 🌝

Ford 2.2L 150bhp in a Chausson le bric.

On the tripometer 28-32 so reckon it’s 25 to 31, depending on head or tail winds which seem to be a big factor.
That’s half my cars consumption , which weighs half as much and a wee bit more aerodynamic .

Why do people post things like "I don't know and don't care how much fuel I use"?

Do they think it helps the OP with his question or do they think we will be impressed? I just don't understand their motivation. Do you?
Why do people post like this when they haven't answered the OP themselves but want everyone else to
I just don't understand their motivation

That's rich coming from you. Your post was

"Mine goes “quite a long way” on £100 worth"
Thats better, and you made Mel smile

Keep smiling😂

7.5 m Carthago at this point, 23mpg which I think is brilliant for a house brick up until recently when my wife and I changed our cars it was the most economical thing we owned😁 but now my car is getting the equivalent to 140mpg👍 Full electric BMW.
