MPG

I simply don’t have a clue and to be honest not really bothered. It will burn whatever it burns to get me from where I am to where I want to pitch for the night

I only know because my trip computer tells me......otherwise I’d just pull up at the pump and fill up. (y)

My trip computer gives litres per 100km (I think) - I simply never look at it anyway, but did learn that an extended range fuel tank when less than half full can be quite painful at the pumps

If I drive carefully and not like a boy wonde4 racer, 10mpg. Occasionally whilst accelerating, I’ve seen the gauge on the dash read 0.9mpg. :gum:
My neighbour has a winnebago brave, he reckons he gets 12-15 if he is very gentle on a run:Eeek:

9.1m 7200kg 19.7 - 20.7, thats ok for the weight

With correctly inflated tyres on a Rollerteam 690 loaded with e bikes and motorbike in the rear but generally empty on the way out but loaded with wine on the way back

27MPG

From what I read thus far PVC's are getting 30+ MPG average, which is not surprising as they are van conversions so should be more aerodynamic than an A class.
A coachbuilt/low profile 150BHP, gets an averaged 22/27MPG, again no surprises there.
I used to log our fuel from when the van was new, mileage taken, then fill to the brim, divide litres taken by mileage etc, but I dont bother so much now. But I do like playing the game of keeping the average MPG at 27.2 MPG on the meter, uphill it drops to 22MPG, then down hill rises to 34, but averaged is 27.2 (y) dont know why I do it, just something to do on a run I guess.:giggle:

Me too, i don't really care what my van does, but i have a challenge with myself on long drives to see just how much i can get it up to,
not bettered 34 as yet, but i suspect over a longer european trip i think i might be able to get it up to 36 ish, although i am well pleased with the 34, big improvement on my previous A class rapido, best for that was 24, but have a headwind and it would drop to 17.

According to my trip, 21.9mpg, 5400kg tag axle. Only done 5800 miles so far, so engine just bedding in. I am very pleased with that indeed

I have no idea, never even thought about it. Somethings are better unknown. But I do research my filling stations in detail. With a 280L fuel tank a few pennies a L can make a big difference.

VW T5 2.5 130bhp getting 21-23 mpg but it usually only goes 1-2 miles at a time.
When out on a run around 30-32 mpg.

We have had 3 150 bhp Fiat based motorhomes 1 coach built, 1 A class comfortmatic, and currently a A class manual, and in full holiday trim they have all averaged 25.9 mpg

'You'll have had your tea then?' For an import from south of the M74, it's still the best method of telling the difference between those from Edinburgh and those from Glasgow ... ;) (y)

Ours is a low line 3.5t coach built boxer 2.2 Ford puma engine and we get a maximum of 34mpg at 55mph on speedo. But usually it's 30 to 32mpg.

I love cruise control and use it all the time. I generally drive at max permitted speed on dual carriageway’s and motorways. ( unless other restrictions apply.)

Towing: Motorway = 60mph, dual carriageway = 60 mph
Not towing: Motorway = 70 dual carriageway = 60 mph

I can see why cruise control uses more fuel, it shuts the fuel off going down hill then goes to full throttle up the other side. If you press the accelerator a bit around the bottom of hills to eliminate engine braking it helps.

I don't find it makes a lot of difference fuel consumption does go up a bit but if you a light footed driver it will go up a lot, it floors the throttle every time it gets to an upward incline.

100KPH on a flat motorway, so approx 62mph i'm getting 22.8mpg, fully laden, 5000kgs tag.

120 ltr full tank of water, 90 ltr diesel, 2 x 11kg gas cylinders, rooftop aircon, Armitage chassis bike rack, 2 x elec bikes, 4 chairs, 1 table, 1 x 390cm air awning, 1 x 5 mtr windbreak, 2 x solar panels, 2 x 100ah batteries, 1 x wife 140lbs, 20 x pairs of shoes, 1 x inverter, 1 x dc to dc charger, socket set, torque wrench, barbeque, hairdryer, iron, tons of clothes, more shoes, loads of gin, brandy, wine (lots) & beer, tonic, bacon, eggs, fruit n fibre, ham, cheese, eggs, bread, tinned stuff, salt & pepper, porridge.

Then theirs, loads more clothes and coats we never wear, shoes I didn't know she'd bought, swingball, windscreen covers, more shoes, Epson printer, macbook pro, 2 x ipads, 2 x iphones, pots, pans, plates, knives, forks, spoons, scissors, bigger spoons, hair dryer, towels, bedding, more shoes, umbrellas, loads and loads more of coats, woolie hats, more shoes, flipflops, sandals, don't do wellies, 20 million rock pegs and a lump hammer

If I empty it completely inc the 140lb wife it does 22.8mpg :ROFLMAO:

is this good, not that i'm bothered ;)
You forgot the cuddly toy! :giggle:

I keep an Excel spreadsheet and log it all rather than rely on the vehicle usage stats although saying that for this MH one they came out with virtually the same result! On our one and only holiday trip to Spain we did a total of 3759 miles giving an average of 25.16 mpg, we don't do 'slow' and like to go on twisty 'interesting' roads etc so both of these affect fuel consumption. It has only done 4758 miles though so we expect the fuel usage to improve the more miles it gets on it, just as our previous MH/campers did.

I keep a log for interest but also because if it starts to use more fuel than normal we know somethings up and need to get it checked.

The onboard computer will say about 29 mpg but it's way out So I use the Fuelio app, inputting mileage and fuel in at every refill and the app keeps a track of it and my average is 26.4 mpg, thats on a 4.25 ton vehicle.

The last trip we made around Europe 3464 miles over 90 days we managed 32mpg. Bit of main motorway, lots of B roads and some pretty steep hills, so we were quite happy with that from our 9 year old Citroën relay 130bhp van conversion.

According to the dash fibometer, 2017 Ducato 150 Comfortmatic is averaging 29 mpg, mainly short local journeys. Not bothered, because in the past 12 months I have only been to the pumps 3 times. Once on French D roads observing the 80 kph limit it boasted 36 mpg over about 200 km.

The previous VW T4 Westy California (2.5 tdi auto) which I did measure accurately did 42 mpg on a long run and 38 mpg otherwise. 2800 kg MTPLM.

What I have found is when the tank is full the pump stops, when the tank is empty the engine stops. Other than that we get around 23 to the gallon. Fully loaded Burstner Iexo 736 2019 2.3 fiat 150 robot auto averaged over 11,000 miles.
