Mousy mooches around Greece..

Rubbish was a problem the last couple of times we visited Corfu. The locals say the council have no money for waste collections.

Loved the photos and blog. Safe journey home and see you next week xx

Thats because the Greek Government decreed that Public Sector workers could retire at 55 on mega pensions, then when the sh1t hit the fan and the moolah ran out, they went running to Brussels.

We had that lovely feeling of only being 4 kilometres away from our chosen night spot, on nice level ground for Martins running and good wide roads.

10 minutes later we were trying to negotiate very steep, narrow roads with lots of overhanging balconies in an Italian hill village.

The guys sat outside the cafe gave us a very Italian full arm srugg as we passed, Martin following the sat nav....what could possibly go wrong?!

After many tight turns and swearing we arrived at our destination only to find some guys playing ball with tamporines!
One of them came over and in full on Italian tried explaining where else we could go.

Off we set again, pass the cafe guys...bigger arm waving now..more tight streets in the setting sun....stress levels high...definitely no lovin going on tonight!!

Parked in a small slopping plaza, Martin declares himself done. He walks off with Millie and orders a beer and pizza...

Perfect, a nice way to end a stressful time...we begin noomming down only for the bloody tamporine man to pull up in his car next to us and start explaining in full fast Italian again where we should be parked. The pizza guy comes out and joins in, the guys across the square chip in too... all being very helpful but just because they speak louder we still non understandly.

Gobbling our pizza (and my first carbs in months) we hit the road again, past the cafe guys who now give us a huge cheer, down the hill, more tight turns until we finally find 3 marked Moho parking bays.

The reason we were keen to find this sosta is because it offers free electric and it’s still boiling hot so we can use the air conditioner.

After all that...electric no working!

Wonderful stuff. :) I've found that area, Po Valley or thereabouts, too hot in May. Greece may have helped you acclimatise for August. :)

Mousy Dawn as usual loving your exploits they are never dull, hope Martin is suitabley chilled now thanks for sharing your adventures.

Loved reading this . Thanks for taking the time to post . Would love to do this one day

We love a bit of Como action..lake side views, ice creams, people watching and good cheese.

In the mood for more mountains we popped into Switzerland and drove up the same pass Robert Clark did last month.

Millie cooled herself down with a roll in some snow.

It was an amazing and awesome day. We were very lucky with the weather, we sat and enjoyed the sound of distant cow bells, waterfalls and bikes roaring up the pass.

Pictures can’t do it justice and huge thanks to Robert for paving the way. If you are ever in this part of the world we 100% recommend the drive. Truly memorable and awe inspiring.

We found a great spot to park the night facing Lake Lucerne too.

Last nights view, we sat outside chatting to the other 2 van owners until beaten inside by a terrific thunderstorm and all night rain...our first “proper “ rain for months!

It was shut Brian so we consoled ourselves with a poke around the Como Ducati dealership.

Hard luck. It was a very memorable visit many years ago. I actually used "film" to photograph it though I'm not sure where the prints are now.

But who needs prints.............

Yesterday was our 30th wedding anniversary and it seemed a good idea to celebrate in Belgium just around the corner from a motorhome dealership know to a few funsters including Lenny HB ...

It was a lovely place that allows overnight camping, with a great dog walking area and nice food.

We started with smoked salmon and prawns in a hot red peppercorn sauce.
