Motorhomers in Southern Spain. Let us know you are OK please.

I emailed Camping Javea asking how they were, they emailed back saying Fine, very little rain. But those areas around Alecante that have suffered are heart breaking, over 200 dead with the number rising. As always in such circumstances it is the people on the ground at the time that are the first to provide help. Our institutions are never able to act quick enough, it is heart breaking. If you were going in a months time then continue with your plans, they need our cash even more to be able to recover and their reception has been warm for a long time now.
Valencia not Alicante..

Passed Valencia on the 19th October, strong winds and sporadic heavy rain, carried on south, After a couple of days we experienced very strong winds and heavy rain for 2 days whilst on Lo Monte site, some vans had some light damage, now hold up in Benidorm and unable to get clear information on the state of the roads heading north, AP7 etc, we are booked to be on Bonterra Benicassim end of next week but I guess that’s not possible. I’m looking at a route home at the end of November, looks like via Madrid is an option.

Time will show us the way

This is our radar image for today. Anyone down at the coast please be careful.

Rain has started here in Mazarron and thunder in the distance, definitely moving up to Guadamar this morning, hopefully a little better up there.

I think by the end of next week you will be fine. Valencia is a big city and diverted routes will be in place. Sad though all of this is the world will carry on.

We still yellow/orange today in Tarragona with persistent but soft rain during yesterday and today, but you are in orange alert in the south of Murcia (gus-lopez too) and red alert north of Almeria.
We are seeing red alerts the whole week.
As jumartoo says, careful everyone.

A friend came South to Benidorm on Friday, and there was a diversion ,which added just an hour to his journey,so no problem. He is now happily on Villasol for the next few months to add to there economy.

We've got thunder and lightning and steady rain here. I can see across towards Lorca but can't see the hills or the castle in the grey.

We're alright up on our third floor, the problem is what runs down the ramblas to the sea and where people have parked. Motorhomes have been flooded when they park in the rambla (even with no parking signs) at La Azohia. I hope any have been moved away by the police.

Raining hard in Vera just now, recieved a message from Government agency about 20 mins ago issuing red alert !

Serious rain here in Mazarron since around 0830. Flooding reported in Murcia, and we have standing water in the campsite.

Just had a second one with more specific areas. The urbanisation of Camposol and the area near the Rambla de las Moreras, which is near the campsite in Bolnuevo.

Please be aware if you're down there and stay safe.

Whilst I sort of agree with what your saying. I don't think this is the best time for "I told you so" type remark.
I would disagree. This is exactly the right time to be talking about this, while the consequences are clear and before our eyes. We spend half the year in Greece, mainly on our boat and the high sea temperature is unprecedented and getting warmer every year, leading to increased thunderstorms, hail, inundations and medicanes, the Mediterranean hurricanes, two of which we have experienced in the last six years. If we don't talk about it, there will be more and more incidents such as this, Bavaria, Emilio Romagna last year, which we witnessed personally, and this year also.
