Motorhome Snobbery

One of the several reasons I have for not using campsites is that I wouldn't want to pay for the sort of site that would let me on in the first place.

At the moment, circumstances have led me to spend time on a site and the €3 euros a day hurts.

At least I haven't dropped my standards so low as to be on the tarmac (or gravel) area!

I'm sure snobbery does exist within the MH circle and I'm sure it's not just the folk with posh vans

Yes yes Gerry, listen when you call on me if you wouldn't mind leaving your van out in the lane and would you please use the tradesmen's entrance as people may be watching. :whistle2:
.

Scared he'll outshine you Griff?

Well yes Graham but more scared that the local Squire's wife might see me talking to a Scottish man. They're very small minded and snobby around here, unlike me of course.

Oh yes and he'll have a panel van then so definitely make him park down the lane, in fact in a totally different lane! :whistle2:

Apart from my ginger hair and kilt how will he know I'm Scottish :)

Oh and you're usually draggin around a screamin Octopus called bagpipes or some such silly name.

We was at Eye Kettleby lakes; in the bar first night there. Went to get our second drinks and took our glasses back. Still a drop in mine so I drank it waiting for the barmaid. She appeared and was about to serve me when some new bloke now stood at the bar said he should be served next as I was still drinking!! Necked my beer and said "not now". He was a little bit embarrassed and started to make conversation "Have you seen that ancient Merc that arrived today? She is a beauty" so I said " And now you have had a drink with the owner"

Everybody's own van is their pride and joy whatever the cost , we can all feel motorhome envy sometimes but it doesn't stop me chatting to anyone! Met a lovely young family in a v old motorhome obviously on first trip ! They were justifiably proud and excited especially when we chatted to them .some people were definitely sniffy.

i have friends with vans rangeing from £1500 to £115,000 we all sit together and have a laugh no snobbery

My A class is sold!
Main reason is that Steph won't drive it!

Really it is because a panel van is more in keeping with our peasant personna !!
It can get us all in the end. The realisatiom what a waste of time and effort big vans really are. Small is beautiful. :xgrin:

Don't need an operation @GJH I was always last in the queue in that department....good stuff in small parcels I told Steph on our wedding night .... when she stopped laughing!

I'm afraid to say we encounter snobbery all the time on aires. Nobody wants to park next to us!
It isn't until an aire gets full that we get anyone parked near us.
And we don't use a SOG!
Somebody (on the dark side) did once say our van 'looked funny'

buy a proper motorhome...:D

Yes there is some people in caravans and Motorhomes who think thay are better than any one else dut most of these have not come t
Through the ranks tents old caravans Motorhomes to these people
I say get a life if rains on me it going to rain on you
Happy camping Robbo

All motor homes are equal but some are more equal than others. The American and 4x4 types are more equal. :xrofl:.

There are some grumpy ones and many don't wave but who really cares?:xdoh:

i tend not to wave, but im ld and dont look at the wrong side, wife and daughter wave from the suiside seat, but that maybe cos they are scared:xrofl:

i tend not to wave, but im lhd . leave it up to wife and daughter to wave for me:xlaugh::xlaugh:

The cost of a motorhome is no indication of its "Class".

Money will NEVER buy "Class"...

...ask Mohamad Al Fayed.

(I don't get many waves as I drive past because most folk are doffing their caps or tugging their forelocks, with eyes lowered and heads bowed.)
