Unscrew the existing bump stop then put the metal base plate of strap between rear of the rubber bump stop & bodywork aligning the screw holes then then screw it all back on - easy peasy to do! (y)
The floppier (OMP type) version is less likely to catch on the mesh fly screen if you have one.
 
Bought this gas detector but rarely use it as packed away in a storage box in the motorhome - now fixed with Velcro next to the side of the gas locker so we remember to check more often:

We would too but our locker is difficult to access through the (side-on) door without unloading the garage so next to our added inspection hatch is our best option.

After adding SOLAS tape to our Mirrorguards so long ago finally got around to adding some more reflective stickers - red ones facing back & silver for front of sliding door. Chose 3M Segmented Conspicuity tape Broken Link Removed which is usually used on lorries for durability:

We have been following all your posts on this thread with great interest - there are lots of ideas for our next van (which is on order …).

We can’t see the pictures you have posted on this page (they are displayed as a rectangle with a red X). Is that because of a problem with our account settings?

Found that putting an absorbent clean cloth like an E-cloth in the drip tray to defrost the fridge works well & minimises the risk of water leaking out onto the floor.

Without this it can be tricky to remove without spilling water & had to use towels like this to catch the drips but the cloth in the drip tray makes these less essential now

The cotton "towels" are new, unused babies terry nappies that make good lightweight & cheap hand towels which are easy to wash & dry.

I just put the used 🤣 towels and tea towels in the fridge and freezer overnight before putting all of them in washing machine.
 
Time to ressurect this ongoing thread :giggle: as starting to do a few more mods ready for this years's adventures!

Fitted these 3D printed Heki "locks" from Steelmans & seem very strong, good attention to detail with the design & well finished. Easy to fit & remove twisting into place & out. Not a security device as such but should at least reduce any movement when driving along so hopefully less risk of damage. Cost for 1 large & 2 small Hekis was £14 total. Went for orange as black ones could suffer more in the sun & can't miss them when going to open the window! The cover is on the motorhome (coming off soon though :dance2:) so the photos are a bit dark:

A couple of mods that may only be of interest to Summit owners 🤔
Used super strong self adhesive Velcro (so removable) to fix a rubber door stop under this cabinet (front right corner) as can tend to swing right out risking damage when parked on a slope

Again to prevent unwanted swing out when travelling if too much for the lock catch - super strong Velcro & self attaching straps used - this may not be a permanent feature but a fix for now until we can find something better.

I am having alarm and tracker fitted on my new Fiat Ducato camper which is with the dealer at the moment. I would like to fit all the various security locks discussed on P.7 for rear barn door as well as front and side but there is a 10 year infiltration warranty with the van which apparently I would make invalid if I were to drill holes for locks etc. Do any any of the above mentioned security locks not require drilling or is it even worth in the long run adhering to this warranty?

Should be no problem fitting the locks which use the the existing screw holes (see post #203) but we had our German dealer fit the HEOS locks so no warranty issues. Worth checking with manufacturer in writing to see how to keep your warranty safe (keeping value for resale) while increasing security. Which McLouis model have you chosen?

Never liked how the glass hob cover wobbles especially when a breeze comes through the open sliding door so added this retainer yesterday

Chose a plastic turn buckle bought from Motorama for £6.70 delivered https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/32483117...d=link&campid=5338547443&toolid=20001&mkevt=1 Wanted to glue it together so as light as possible but limited contact points so used stainless steel screws (not included) to make it one strong unit but attached it to the plastic surround of the door screen with self adhesive super strong Velcro. Will trial it this summer but removable if we find a better option.

We found this stainless steel range from Plew Plew £12.99 from Amazon which is very simple but excellent quality & suits our interior design. It works really well & positioned as we have fixed it means that it does not interfere with the toilet so can stay in place when pulling the panel back over to use the shower. It can be fixed on end too as works in multiple ways.

UPDATE: As the hole in the cardboard tube of toilet & kitchen rolls gets smaller to reduce pack size & transportation costs have found the stainless steel Plew Plew holders difficult to use so did this mod. & they now work perfectly again!

Just added a split cutting the end with a hacksaw or Dremel saw & a rub down to smooth the cut ends. This enables the rolls to slide on easily & work as usual.

Latest modification - 2 new EPDM self adhesive seals in the interior of the toilet locker where they were none before on the inner & outer edges - found a small amount of rain had pooled inside the locker during a recent big storm but watertight now. Used 7.5m KISO "D" Profile EPDM Cellular Rubber Sealing Strip, Self Adhesive, PSA Backed (8x8mm)" It was £9.99 from Zeroplus - out of stock now but many similar versions online.​
