Motorhome & PVC Modding - Accessories & Discount Codes

I daren't! swmbo would kill me if I spend any more !!!!:giggle:

Be nice if we were! Can't even benefit from Funster discount on Clutch Claw as we already have two - both bought years ago & transferred as we changed vehicles - that was a good investment though
Hope you have liked the things that you bought? Some, like the Colapz (Flopro) watering can are a bit Marmite - have met Funsters on rallies who went on to buy more as they carry two & others who sold them on.
just kidding, its nice to get the heads up on some useful gear:cool:

Anticipating hot sunny weather :pray2: for this years travels & rallies fitted these Fiamma brackets
Hi Wombles Where did you find the 2 'spare' brackets - having 4 will be much more practical than the 2 we got with the fan.

Hi - all 4 came with the fan some years ago. We did try to find spares rather than remove them (leaving small screw holes to fill with white silicone) from our previous motorhome but didn't find any online at the time. Perhaps a Fiamma agent like Johns Cross www.johnscross.co.uk can help? They do give Funsters discount too Link Removed

Hi Karen and Alan, hope you are both well hope to catch up will you somewhere soon. We are following your posts as we are changing to a pvc due to Michael unable to renew his C1 licence due to health reasons.
We are collecting a Malibu 640 on 9th September, it has been on order since February sadly delayed due to Covid. We were ordering a rear door lock from Womo-tuning and found your posts looking for a discount code and are now going to order a sliding door lock too.
Best wishes Sue and Michael.

Hi - great to hear from you both & look forward to seeing you in your lovely new pvc sometime! :hi::hi:
Think Patrick's business is now really taking off - some clever ideas & well made items on his website & glad that our Fun discount code is still working. We have the indoor sliding door (chain) lock but if we didn't already have dealer fitted extra exterior locks then would consider his new outside one too as looks a neat DIY option.

Exciting post arrived today & the best solutions to securing the sliding door & rear barn doors from inside for us that we have found from https://www.womo-tuning.de/ in Germany. If anyone does want to order any of their well made products then they have kindly agreed a 5% discount code MOTORHOMEFUN-UK for Funsters (y)
See post 186 above for tips for buying from overseas.
This lock €34.90 (minus discount plus €9.90 shipping per order) is for the sliding door:

For anyone who needs a longer version (for the Malibu van for example) it may be available so worth emailing but the website listing does mention that this will not fit Hymercar as their interior trim is different.
UPDATE: Womo-tuning have now changed name to Camper Protect https://www.womo-tuning.de/ but our 5% Fun discount code MOTORHOMEFUN-UK is still working (y) UK shipping is a standard option now on the (German) website at €11.90. As well as the interior sliding door chain lock in the Quote above (post #192 on page 7 of this thread) there is now an easy DIY external sliding door lock kit too

For any Globecar/Possl Summit Plus or Carthago Malibu owners buying the Womo-tuning/Camper Protect indoor sliding door chain it might be worth adding the €1 screw link to make fitting & removal easier as now suggested on their listing (due to the additional cladding there is on the B pillar in these & possibly some other models) - we don't have this extra link & ours works fine but can see that it would make it a little quicker & easier to fit so will source one. Looks like it is a galvanised steel "quick link" which extends the chain by 4cm - any longer might reduce effectiveness:

We are also thinking about an OBD Lock with added Extension <Broken link removed> from the same company when we get the van out of hibernation! Even with the two parts (so two locking parts) plus shipping work out much cheaper than the other locks we have found so far for this.

Are these for use whilst you’re sleeping in the van? I am always cautious about delaying an exit in case of fire. Smoke and panic induced adrenalin can cause disorientation .... My parents always locked both outer and inner front doors with keys and Chubb locks and kept the keys in another room. Luckily, they never had a house fire; the worst was they couldn’t open the door quickly enough to get parcels before a card was pushed through the door.
Always found a normal small door bolt fitted to rear of sliding door does the trick,,BUSBY.

Hi Karen, does that OBD lock fit the ducato x250 do you know?

Hi - it's listed for it on their website
"suitable for x250 / x290 year of construction from 2006"
You have just reminded me that this one is our To Do list along with the Catloc sitting in the box! (y) Alan wanted to have a look at our port before giving me the go ahead to buy.

Just ordered one but cannot find U.K. in the country lists so hope they use my PayPal address.

We didn't spot it at first - UK is Vereinigtes Königreich on the drop down at checkout - so should be €11.90 p&p on top of listing cost.

It helped me that Brenda is fluent in German

That's handy! The website translates into English (using right click) but not the drop down & most use
Großbritannien so that threw me :blusher:

Mod. for today was fitting a rain gutter strip over the sliding door to reduce the build up of water on top of the door that then pours in on opening. After much searching bought 1.5m Reimo rain gutter from Kiravan https://www.kiravans.co.uk/prod.../plastic-rain-gutter-150cm for £20.25 delivered. Some discussion about this & other options here https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/foru...-over-sliding-door-on-van-conversions.202952/ . Pleased with how easy it was to fit & hopefully it should work well & be durable enough 🤞 as designed for exterior use over cab doors.

Had quite a bit of rain since fitted & can confirm it works well (y)

A while ago we bought a Catloc on eBay at a bargain price - know other Funsters have too so worth looking out for these - normally around £130 but a couple around £80 listed at the moment if searching on part no. as Catloc often misspelt. It was listed as fitting Boxer & Relay 2.2HDi Euro 5 (LGBVAC1155) but on checking with the manufacturer https://catloc.co.uk/ it also fits 2.0HDi Blue Euro 6 so result! Levelling ramps & chocks made access underneath the van just about workable. Lots of thefts of these in our area so happier now the "lock" is on & it has been etched & registered with the kit that it comes with.
This first one is not our photo but shows how it fits:

Fitted our OBD Lock today - went on well & pleased with it :)

A suggestion from a helpful member (thank you Philipp :) ) of a Facebook Group that we run was to fit a tow loop strap to the door bumper on the sliding door :

This is our version fitted today:

Bought this TRS tow loop strap in black (other colours are available) from here http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-5...0001&campid=5338547443&icep_item=182883649204 £10.99 delivered but did unpick & remove the label:

It's a well made heavy duty loop & so far it does seem helpful for controlling the sliding door but doesn't flop down out of the way like the OMP version. Cheaper versions are available from £4 on eBay.

Can confirm this FloPlast silicone grease http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-5...0001&campid=5338547443&icep_item=323886506760 £7.50 delivered (cheaper to buy in store) works really well on our Dometic toilet - the handle to open/close the flap was getting really stiff. We also greased the guide rods as well as the flap & seal which makes it all work effortlessly now. Think decanting a small amount to carry in the motorhome for use if needed when travelling is a good idea as this is a big tub (100g) but great value compared to other options. We tried using silicone spray but not effective for the type of toilet that we have but worked well on previous ones.

To save having to empty the underfloor storage area to lift out the panel to access the water drain down tap each time decided to add a hatch:

Used the same Silverline 427630 114mm holesaw as in post #170 & Osculati hatch https://www.solmer.co.uk/boat-accessories/osculati-inspection-hatch-screw-lock-102-mm.html as in post #169 with stainless Torx screws from here www.westfieldfasteners.co.uk (Torx Raised Csk Self Tapping Screw No.8 x 13mm in A2 Stainless) in case that level of detail helps anyone!

Our motorhome has a tough flooring surface bonded to the floor board but still want to protect the garage floor from scuffs & scrapes so after trying lots of samples chose this Cobadot vinyl flooring to loose lay cut to size - it’s available in blue or black at 1.2M wide & can be bought in 1m sections from but if ordering 2m it is likely to be two sections not a continuous sheet unless you request that. If going via Quidco to Zoro then 3% cashback possible & £17.99 per metre plus £4.99 delivery but if order over £20 then free delivery. Also 5% discount code “ ZTOCT18 “ for next 17 days (y)

Haven't fitted it yet as so many little jobs to do but it cuts easily & doesn't smell of rubber like many other dot floorings.
UPDATE: Cobadot vinyl flooring still good after 2 years use, doesn't move, wipes clean easily & has just a few superficial marks. Available by the metre here https://www.cromwell.co.uk/shop/cromwell/prod/1-2m-x-1m-x-2-5mm-blue-cobadot-vinyl/p/CBA9465061B & easily cut with scissors. Don't forget to contact them if you want 2 continuous metres as otherwise it is likely to come as 2 x 1m sections! Photo taken today:

Like many other Summit owners have reported the clear silicone pipe from the sink looks unsightly with black mould inside it - have cleaned ours but still looks horrid so put a length of grey waste pipe over it. The original is still there just obscured by the extra pipe covering it. Looks a bit better now when opening the cupboard under the sink.

Handy hooks https://www.hangerworld.com/.../view/id/265/category/18/
for hanging towels, flannels & small clothing items to dry especially if, like us you have Heki roof windows with handles. We take them off when travelling though as they do rattle otherwise! These can be used either way up. Use code #Hangerworld2020 for 10% discount so only £11.65 for 20 hooks including UK delivery
🙂
They deliver worldwide at extra cost too.

How did you fix it. Sorry if that’s a dumb question !
