Motorhome Fun Running Club

Well. Over 2 mins quicker than last year in less than favourable conditions. 53.42 for 10k. Getting there :thumb:

Well done Jill.

Tough conditions today for sure. :thumb:

What's next

Not sure yet.

Plenty of races coming up locally but the boys are cycle racing most weekends (which usually means a trip in the camper) and I don't want to race as much as I want to watch them, especially Dan who's doing really well in his final year as a junior - do you know what I mean?

Completed the final race in teh spring trebble series last night.

All done with that, Now on to Sundays Marathon....

Good luck with your marathon Paul.:thumb:
I'll be racing a 10k on Sunday in Ormskirk, expecting it to be swift for the front runners if all the club members turn up as last year.:Eeek:

Good luck Paul hope you have a nice day for it.

Four weeks on Sunday until my marathon still struggling slightly with injury although up to 18m and hoping to get 20 in this week before a shortened taper.

All the best at Stratford Paul. We are not far away from there this weekend so may pop over and give you a cheer.

Just back from the 10k race at Ormskirk, all in aid of autism and "Belle Vue House", a local charity. A pretty tough course to be honest, mixture of road and trail but a good many turns. Very well organised though and the marshals were excellent.
Official results not in yet but I think I came in 17th, 39 mins 34 secs.
Couple of shots of me legging it for the line, courtesy of Mrs. DesRes, ta love.

Wow, good result. :thumb:

Well Done Des...

Just back from Stratford upon avon Marathon....

Windy, sunny, scenic and very lonely.

Started off teh 1/2 marathoners and the full marathoners at the same time. 2x Laps for the full and boy did I want to end at 13 miles.
but no,

I carried on on a lonely furrow to complete the full.
Not sure of time but around 4-30 so deffinately a new PB, but not often I get to run these road marathons.
Fully knackered now, and only 2 weeks until the last in my series, the 33 mile Ultra. :thumb:

Time for a good curry now.

Well done Paul, good result. God know how you can eat a curry after running that's distance! You obviously don't suffer from 'runners belly'. After my one and only marathon all I wanted was a bag of salty crisps and peanut butter sandwich!

Terrific Paul, your body will have barely recovered from the last so good show.
Strange you mention curry, I'm just stirring a rather large pot...:thumb:

Thanks ATW, my result was correct, 4th M50. Winner did it in 34:33.
More impressively the first lady came just behind the winner in 35:09, phew...:Eeek:

Any on out running this weekend?

Done a little park run this morning and decided to nip off and run the Uttoxeter half marathon tomorrow,

Doing as a favour for a club member, she wants me to pace her under 2 hours.

Comes to something when your using a half marathon as a training run

Only a pleasure run down to the beach at West Runton and along the Peddars Way for few miles. I am starting to get itchy feet to start a training schedual for something again, it's been a while.

No race for me as just finished work and nightshift tomorrow.

Did 20 miles on Wednesday in 2.50 and was absolutely knackered although I didn't feel 100% before going out and first 7 mile was really hilly as my theory is train on hills then the marathon will be easy :Rofl1::Rofl1:.

So will do about 8m tomorrow before nightshift then a couple more runs after finishing work on Tuesday morning.

Good luck with the half Paul.

That's a solid 20 miler there Gerry!:BigGrin:Ready for Edinburgh!
Next race for me is the Great Manchester 10K, same day I think.

phew that was a tough one....really struggled today..tough hilly course and very warm...enjoyed it though n

Was a bit warm here, too

24:50 (2:17 quicker than last year:BigGrin:) It was three laps of the town, very twisty & turny with a couple of short sharp hills on each lap so I'd like to think I could go quicker again. Unfortunately the closest parkrun to me is about 45 miles away, bit too far to go just for a 'chipper'

Did you manage to get your friend inside 2 hours?

Looking forward to the photos - what're you dressing up as (or is it a secret)?

Well I managed my mammoth mission as I'm sure you read on the other post.

So what does one do?

Hang up he trainers?

Take a rest?

No books him self in to the Brathay Windermere marathon on Sunday:Doh::Doh: hilly and hard but hey ho

Mad, quite mad! You must decide on when to take a break soon though, otherwise your body will decide for you, which will be much more frustrating.

Well back from the Brathay Windermere marathon, what a gorgeous must do race that is.
Great scenery and great big slate medal...very hilly though with some real sappers but made it round despite a bit of a jarred knee at mile 17 .

You will be pleased to know Amy, I've got a half booked in next week then nothing till the end of June, another marathon in Lancaster:Cool: again another hilly cookie ....

There was a guy doing his 800th marathon there today, and another German guy who holds the record doing his 1800 wow, how do you do that many.....:Eeek:

Need a nice little recovery run tomorrow now, then some rest...:thumb:

Well done Paul I think your rest is well overdue.

I have mine next week then drive home and straight to nightshift why do we do these things :Rofl1:

Didn't rest for long,

Done the extraordinary hilly Buxton half marathon on a very warm day...

Loverly race,

Just back home after the Edinburgh Marathon and thankfully got out of my nightshift, very please with my time and felt quite fresh at the end and actually did my mile from 25 to 26 mile.

Time was 3.52.12 thought at mile 22 I had a chance of sub 3.50 but long very slight hill that felt like Everest and went on for a mile, so thought I'd take it easy and make up for it just missed out but still pleased.

Got some sunburn on my head also must wear a wig next year :Rofl1:

Looks like I will have to alter my target for Berlin in September and try and get in the 3.40s.
