I have a pair of wellies :Rofl1::Rofl1:

Don't have trail shoes but went to Glasgow the other night to get measured and assessed for new trainers came away with new pair of Brooks so will be breaking them in on treadmill over the next week or so.

I have had brooks for the last few years but this time have gone onto Saucony, really pleased with them.

Hi Andy that's good news, I couldn't get a place in the half as it was full by the time I knew I was off. We are still going to Blackpool though will be staying here www.hamptonroadsc.co.uk from the Friday to Monday along with other Fun members and our kids so if your close by pop in I have loads of cold Magners. Also hoping to come along and watch the race.

Good luck
Gerry

Must have been the bitterly cold wind that made you run faster, well done.

nope,

it was my son chasing me

beat him with time to spare. :yeah:

But he's getting closer

he's only done two 10k's so far. He has just realised he needs to train harder. It can only mean one thing.

Start of a slippery slope I'm afraid

My hubby had similar competition with son no 2 in cycling. We can't quite recall the moment Dan started kicking his father's butt:Laughing:

They still compete in the same races but as Dan goes off the front, Paul is out of the back :Rofl1:

My 10 miler in Lampeter went quite well on Sunday. Averaged 8.46 minute miling to give me just under 1:28 :thumb::thumb:

Good pace Jill :thumb:

Made it..even with Air France via CdeG, plus bags as well.:thumb:

Good running Haggers, though I can see Jill has a fair point...

Shame about the Half Gerry, they might have a few place left in the Marathon... Just give up half way.:Rofl1: Perhaps see you over the weekend sometime...:thumb:

Well done with the 10 miler Jill! You kept quiet about that.
We need more race reports.

Got out before supper last night for a favouite route down the canal, 10k round trip in the sunshine and new trailers, happy days.

Now, where did I leave the van keys...:Eeek:

Well done that's a great time, walked along to the start this morning then watched a few of the runners come along the front, as you say perfect day for it.

Thanks Gerry & ATW.
Results on line this morning, 36th / 636.
The sub. 3hrs remains elusive, it's the last 10K, killer.
Went through the 1/2m in 1:27:30 so a couple of minutes in hand and was feeling good.
Completely lost it over the last few miles though, legs gave out.
Feeling okay today though so that's good.
Packing the van right now, off to York for the rest of this week...

This MHF running club is a load of rubbish, I read it every day and not getting any fitter or losing any weight.:Rofl1::Rofl1::Rofl1::Rofl1::Rofl1:

That's a great time des. Super fast and what a result. 36th is fantastic.

I'm still aching after my 29 miles of hell but looking forward to the 33 mile test in 5 weeks.

If this weekend was anything to go by I know it's gonna be tough but I'm sure it's doable.

I need my toenails back though and my foot to actually remain attached to my leg, it doesn't feel like it is at present.

Did not realise what a fit lot you were..I also did the Cloud 9 and had a few days round Chesire in the van afterwards.
I would have said hello if I had known you were there.
Might do the Medoc depending on when this is - we are going to be in France from start of May untill mid July
I am also doing the Newby Hall Duathlon on 21 April and having a couple of nights out around Ripon area.

Hi Bessi welcome to the club:thumb:

Cloud 9 is a great race and I love doing it especially as its local for me.

Sadly Medoc is sold out this year, we have many from our club doing it, there is only corporate packages left

My probable aim is still likely to be the Great Wall of china marathon in 2015 health providing of course. :thumb:

Cheers Paul, and well done with your 29 miler, no surprise the aches.
Bring on the 33 eh?
Just been looking at races and my leave schedule.
Chester Marathon, 6th October looks promising. Should be home by the beginning of September next leave so would have a few weeks proper road running before the event.
Sub 3 is the goal...:Eeek:
Next race is Bolton 10K, 21st April.

Hi Bessi and good luck with your Duathlon!

Wildman, you need to get out more.:thumb:

If you want an attempt at a fast marathon, I and my club are running the de ja vue track marathon first week in November. 106 laps of a running track, I done it last year, we allow only 50 runners but you know someone who can get you a place.

A sub 3 hour could make you the winner, or very close, and with your history of running on a tread mill you could handle it.

I done the chester marathon 2 years ago as my first marathon, very expensive, quite well organised, not a bad route but don't expect a city marathon, oh and be careful it does go in to Wales

Got a 10k tomorrow. Hoping to get inside 55 minutes. Will let you know how I get on
