Morocco in Motorhome for 90 days

That's one heck of a detour you'd have to make then!
But perfectly doable ....like i said 😁 people that do these trips dont see that as a detour but instead its a route 🤷🏻‍♂️ im following a guy thats crossing Africa at the minute in an old landrover ...he started in south america ...was in ireland and uk then mainland europe crossed in to Africa last year and i believe he intends to get to russia via india etc ...his blogs great ...his daughter and son have been raised on the road and i think they are in their mid teens now. Hes written several books

A fully fledged FLT by the looks of it. Asking for donations to fill his tank. Thats nice

This time last year, we shared a few stories and tinnies with the two couples/owners of these two Aussie built vehicles. The were Australian citizens although one was Scottish (theres always one), the other German. The map on the side of the vehicle shows where they'd been.

I'd have said it must be hard being quite as miserable a bugger as you but you do it so well it looks easy.

Do you sit tentively waiting for someone to post something you can criticise or pick fault with?

I would suggest that telling stories (blogging) in exchange for financial or material assistance is as old as mankind is, and nothing to be ashamed of, if it helps you to achieve your dreams.

What are you going to do - ram the barrier? Might be interesting o_O
Did i at any time say go from morroco via Algeria?

No i simply said ( jokingly ) that you could technically drive from Morocco to israel and get a ferry to Cyprus ....i never gave a route because it was meant as a joke because you had originally said that talking about Cyprus was a thread diversion from Morocco.

Then someone decided to state that it somehow couldn't be done. 🤷🏻‍♂️

But it can quite easily......if you're adventurous enough. Which does rule out most of the comfort zone campsite dwellers.

Apologies, no offence meant - I was joking as well.

Btw. I'm not a fan of campsites, Aires are my thing.

We love Morocco, always something different. however you always end up paying, you can stop in the middle of the desert without a person in sight, I guarantee you a lad in a hi vis will appear from nowhere and introduce himself as a guardian, usually only a euro or so though and many of them are dirt poor.

But you forgot to add that in most cases they do indeed stay with you, or at least around, and act as security or to help with anything you need.

On our last visit we stopped on a carpark which someone suggested was fine. True to form a guy showed up, asked for Dh40, found a chair and sat on it all night outside our van!

Was he selling oranges ?

Well if anyone fancies company on a trip to Morocco let us know x

The land border between Morocco and Algeria has been closed (fact) for 'donkeys years', pardon the pun. The Algerian backed Polisario Front and Morocco have been at loggerheads for yonks over the disputed Western Sahara region.
I see Morocco has suspended diplomatic relations with Germany over Western Sahara

We loved Morocco over the last two winters before it all went wrong

Is this a test or caption competition?

I'll go for. Man with white ears says "This most be the lowest tide ever"

Would love to return to Morocco next winter but insurance/green card now seems to be a big issue. I have a friend who has just been quoted £2500.00 for a Moroccan green card.
I am with Comfort who, from 1st Jan, no longer cover Morocco. Who are people insuring with and at what cost?

When Comfort no longer appeared to want my business I changed to Saga who offered me (a) guaranteed no premium increase for 3 years and (b) no-charge Green Card for Morocco. Obviously we didn't take them up on the latter this year, be interesting to see what happens next year.

Can I ask if there was a big difference in price please

We moved our insurance & breakdown cover from Safeguard a year ago to Saga, more or less same cover but was just over £100 cheaper & we get Green Card for Morocco included in this, Saga also guarantee the price for 3 years

Watch out. The green card only shows you have 3rd party insurance. You may find your main policy does not cover Morocco. Our green card has all sorts of places on it but our insurance only gives full cover in Europe.

I didn't mean right now but it is possible during normal circumstances ...i follow several travel blogs of overlanders who do all over these regions ... insurance you buy at borders the same as Albania etc ...i guess it just depends how adventurous you are.
This bloke ,Guy ,& his wife stayed with me a couple of years back . ( Her bro & sister live in the village ). he travelled all over eastern med ,north africa mainly alone. He changed from an adria coach built to a fiat mainly because it was easier to be repaired in most of the places. Like new wheel bearings in Syria in Aleppo! His blog is here but all in French.

One thing that stuck in my mind was him saying that it was handy being able to speak english as in some of the old French colonies the French are hated & he could get around that speaking english.

We cancelled Comfort and went with Saga in order to get our green card for our trip to Morocco last year.
As others have said it was a three year fixed price deal which you are free to cancel each year. ( We have done)
It cost £150 more than Comfort but included a Fully Comprehensive Green Card.

I have no idea what the deal is now

We got that straight from the horses mouth,on more than one occasion.

Morocco was 'ruled'? by the French for quite a few years and there is no love lost between them now, hearing an English voice always brings a smile to the faces of the locals👍

Scottish voice has that affect nearly everywhere in Europe 😁

Been enjoying you tube videos by Ed Pratt https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCuNy42Y5egf07cSiHbF23wg

He traveled right around the world on a unicycle camping out at the side of the road/under bridges/in derelict buildings Proper travelling!

If you take into account the cost of Comforts Green Card it was significantly less. Saga quoted me about the same as the previous year with Comfort who had increased theirs by around 25% and the guy I spoke to was completely dis-interested in discussing it.
Shame as I had been with them for most of my M/h ownership and their prices and service were excellent.
