Morocco 2019

We were probably walking on the prominarde or in the restaurant having coffee. Thank you for making the effòrt. We could struggle up the hill and introduce ourselves around midday if that's ok with you. I have promised my wife a day out and see an opportunity to kill two birds with one stone.
What’s Meena ever done to you?:)

Full moon at 8 a.m. this morning. Looks like were through the dip in the weather and the days get much better again from this point forward.

best just take every road or piste to the sea. lots of great free parking along that coast. stay off the main roads as much as possible. just right turns till you get to the sea then turn left and keep the sea on your right.
yes some might be dead ends but at least you get a good adventure . most miss the best bits by dot to dot camping and main road driving.
soon be good up inland up the mountains give the snow chance to melt.
but hug the coast all the way down. great parking places below dakhla around the gulf de cintra region.

Have you been lately @vwalan? A lot of the old wild spots on the west coast seem to have disappeared sadly.

Some of the landscapes have changed beyond recognition. Morocco is developing very fast indeed, massive investment.

its like every where it changes from year to year, .
in the 70,s and 80,s spain was losing the wild places we used to park.
in the 70,s morocco was really good ,ideal for surfers going for the winter.
we used to be able to camp/park in some of the palaces grounds back then .
old places disappear and new ones are only just around the corner.
back in 1996 the old king was at tagga with the plans to the changes on the beach. yes they have changed a bit but we all knew what was going to happen . the locals didnt get their leases renewed for the fields by tamrhahkt , mind that was only a few houses back then.
loads places to have fun if you look for them.

Any one in tiznit try chez ouhna, lovely 3 course lunch( salad, couscous, fresh fruit, bread and water,) 35 dhrs , if you do go have the chicken they've mastered how to cook that a bit better than beef or lamb , it's in the square behind the wall

Us and Cakey only brits here at Tafraoute
Not quite correct. Thete are other Brits in Tafroute who have been keeping us updated on the weather. It's been freezing at night and first thing on the morning as your about to find out tomorrow. Good news is weather is on the turn and by the weekend, if forecast holds up will be the right time (IMO) to visit.

@Hotelman Well, we came as per the message I posted above, last night and could not find you. We were told all the Brits were in one corner and after exploring the whole campsite found none. Not impressed with the campsite either. Mena enjoyed her day out though, so not all was lost. Untill the next time then. Safe Travels.

Hi @vwalan Just out of interest, now the question has sort of been raised, when was the last time you visited Morocco. ?
2016 .yes like i said its changing . even more changed from when i first went with my parents as a young child in the early 60,s.
i do like morocco but actually prefer gambia . bit harder to drive there but have done it .
tunisia is nice but i find it a bit chilly in winter.
the surf along the atlantic coast was always the main atraction but as surfing is not on the cards for me these days other places do for now.

Thanks for that, we too were over in 2016, pity we never met up as clearly you have extensive knowledge of Moroc and it would have been great to have met you.

just play our normal game , my mate amd i were class 1 drivers . but now in spain ,maroc etc arent allowed to drive on toll roads ,or main roads , plus must avoid duall carriageways .
we often get told we are more childish every year.
so we are getting younger.
children arent allowed to play on busy roads . hee hee.
so use small roads visit as many villages as you can and try not to follow the signposts as we dont do as we are told.
there is always another road and usually much more fun getting there.

@jongood , at least we were able to wave !!

Now Enjoying a lunch and a couple of beers in the hotel ait baamrane, very civilised

Sorry won’t catch up with you both, managed to cram a shed load in once again.
Safe travels Marc & Sam

We've always come up from Tiznit and down to Agadir, because it works out that you seem to spend less time on the side with the big drops.

We arrived here late afternoon and were surprised to see sunshine and the temp at 22c, the forecast was 16c. Parked up in the palmerie, plenty of room.
