Morelo or Niesmann?

There is a small increase in surface area I think but the difference is in the angled arrangement to the adjoining bench seat which adds a touch of style.
Indeed, and in the 2.5 metre shell (or a slide) I think it works better as in a standard width and with bar seating it tends to narrow the lounge down too much for our liking.

There certainly used to be more kitchen surface when they used the wide 3 burner hob at the back of the work space but not sure now.

One thing
Our friends have one with the rear lounge... it gives a lot of space and the kitchen area is fab. I was wondering about the bedroom area and whether it would be a bit claustrophobic... it wasn’t. Very nice indeed.
Were you able to see how big the garage is?

Yes Robert. It’s big, obviously not as big as the ones with bedroom at the rear, but large enough. I don’t know what the payload is though.

The lounge and kitchen area is fantastic - really spacious and well designed. There were six of us at the table for dinner and there was plenty of room.

Did they import it or buy in UK?

I see your point had not considered the 2.5 width as an optional feature as its standard with the Liner; now I think about it the Novel kitchen is standard with the slide so would I pay extra if it wasn't? Thats a question I was never tested with. The new rectangular 3 gas hob is a great space creator so worth considering if its not now standard, maybe on the VIP special options list if not?

They said they stopped fitting that hob when people commented that they couldn't get 3 pans on it.

True you cannot according to my chef. However she has always said that she could live with 2 in exchange for more worktop space. I am sure they would fit it if demanded. You just have to analyse your hob usage to identify if 3 hobs are used on a very regular basis or it is just a mirage in the mind? Maybe the basis of a poll on here?? Or even Robert Clark with his use can comment?

What are the benefits of a Morelo over a Swift?

Does it:
Get you places faster
Have a unique engine
Drive itself
Ability to avoid traffic jams
Very economical
Tolls are cheaper
Sleeps 6
Have a full size cooker and oven
Put you in debt
Allow you spare money to enjoy other luxury hobbies
Allow you to have other non MH holidays throughout the year without feeling guilty
Make you feel it was so expensive you must use it
Make people avoid you at campsites
Make you feel superior
Good value for money
Give you plenty of room inside

I need to make sure I have made the right decision (y) ;)

I'm not sure they would actually, and possibly that is part of their problem;)

Martin

OT, but I've noticed at the shows some big wide luxury caravans that are designed for semi-permanent or seasonal pitches, obviously not for touring. There must be a growing niche market for these as an upmarket alternative to statics yet cheaper and more transportable than lodges.

I saw these in Dusseldorf ;) Caravans seem to be getting bigger as you say, wouldn't like to tow these too far especially on small roads or steep hills!

Each to their own but I'm really not a fan of rear lounges for several reasons

1, They always compromise garage space ( relative the vehicle size)
2, The entrance is usually clumsy because you come in against the side of the washroom, wardrobes etc
3a, On a continental you are left with a strange space at the back of the cab seats
,3b On a UK one you end up having to make the bed up

4, The rear window gets absolutely filthy so I have to clean it more often.

Never thought about the window Jon but yes I am sure you are right as the back of our van gets absolutely filthy, great lounge and kitchen but that's about it for me.

Our friends have a new rear lounge Concorde. It’s a fantastic layout. There’s loads of space and what there is is well designed. We spent quite a bit of time in it with them so got to see the layout in use as it were... it was very good.

The area behind the cab seats on our friend’s Concorde has an office area with pull out desks. The bed is made up and stays that way - it is massive. I didn’t notice the entrance being clumsy either. I’d say that the garage is smaller than a front lounge layout but definitely not small.

One thing they did mention was that they’d come across a miserable old git who moaned that their vehicle’s door was on the ‘wrong side’ when they were parked on a site. They moved it to face the ‘right way’ and in doing so lost their view. This didn’t pacify him though and he gave them the evil eye for the rest of the day... obviously the guy was a nutcase but perhaps that may be a downside, I don’t know.

I liked it very much :giggle:
