Just a tad..
Now if Martin is looking at and thinking about buying another van, we all know it is going to be at least 5 years before he finally makes a decision.

Might still get it delivered before yours though! 🤪

I was reading a thread on LinerTreff forum and somebody there was saying MAN, IVECO and then Merc for a camper chassis, not sure why though.
No truck driver ever gets payed enough to drive an Iveco ……😇😎😆

Heading to Maastrict today for two night then will see where we end up, some cycling down the Rhine possibly but that will depend on the weather, thanks for the suggestion anyway and we will see if it fits.
Have you visited Monschau ? Nice little place👍

Well I took nearly that long to find our N&B Arto - 2 years to settle on the spec and another 2 years to find the actual one. I was working(a little bit) so no rush.

But I am glad I did because it has proved to be the right one for 15 years.

Anyway Martin is our eyes and ears in the higher end market and his work and dissemination of information is invaluable.

funflair Martin and Jen have a good trip and please let us know where you will be after 3rd week May as we will be heading West to France.

Yes we did that a few years ago and you are right, nice little place, and site of the canoe slalom world championships a good few years back, 1965 possibly.

Cycle ride into Maastricht and sussed out places to visit tomorrow, total chaos with bikes and pedestrians heading all directions but we survived and we found the underground secure cycle parking for tomorrow so we can just have a walk around (secure guarded cycle parking and free👍)

Nice spot (y) €59 for two nights though:LOL: cheeky buggers charge extra for a bigger van but you get exactly the same piotch as everybody else.

First chance to use my relocated Induction hob, it was in a locker lower down and too low really so this is much better (think I need to tidy the electric cable up though)

Isn't it amazing what you can do with an odd bit of ply, a couple of drawer runners, chequer plate, and some metallic paint? ;)

Jock. ;)
You are right Jock and the drawer runners came from an old filing cabinet when we cleared Jen's mums house, not screwed into the van at all either as it just tuck under some trunking at the back so if I want it out it's a two second job.

Cycled into Maastricht this morning dodging the rain showers,
IMG_2414.jpeg

Free cycle parking, manned entrance so secure, they have lockers if you want to leave stuff and electric charging points for cycles as well.

We just did the town walk from the tourist information guide, the basilica was very dark (as in not much light)

IMG_2412.jpeg
IMG_2410.jpeg
IMG_2407.jpeg

Another church with a tower and I just can't resist climbing them if allowed so €3.50 each 217 steps later we are at the top, been up higher ones but OK for a view.

IMG_2413.jpeg

And then of course we couldn't leave the Netherlands without buying some cheese.

Moving tomorrow but not quite decided where yet but possibly Andernach.

You could have gone bigger 😂😂 On a different note we thought you were already in Germany. We were stopped on the A3 yesterday when a U.K. registered Morelo pulled up waving at us. I was in the back and Garry never caught the reg, we thought it may have been you.

I thought you had an induction hob inside, is the outside one just an option so you can cook outside 🤔👍

We are looking at getting a single induction hob, ours would be loose so can use inside or out

We are all gas inside David, this induction used to be lower down in a locker at chassis level but I found it a bit too low so relocated it, it is just free standing on the slider though so could easily go inside, it's a Tefal single ring and works well (y)

So yes we decided on Andernach, quite busy here but we managed a front row spot with river view.

Andernach is described as a "edible city" or a "garden city" in that locals are encouraged to plant and tend fruit and vegetables and then help themselves as and when, sounds a bit like our garden where we plant and tend stuff and the birds then eat it all  as you walk around there are several areas that are planted but not enough to feed the whole town/city for sure.

IMG_2422.jpeg

Grape vines, broad beans, celery and some herbs at the far end.

This sculpture park is new since we were here about 7 years ago and they are still working on it,

IMG_2435.jpeg

The city still has the remains of it's old walls and some impressive towers and gates,

IMG_2440.jpeg

The church is rather imposing and Germanic from the outside but quite highly decorated inside.

I was desperate for a P so we found a bar and that sort of put a stop to the cultural tour.

Back at the stellplatz now and the lady has just been around to collect our money €27 for 3 nights (a bit more sensible);)

Are you doing the boat trip to the geyser?
We did pick a leaflet up, out for a bike ride in the morning but could do it later, is it worth bothering with?
