Wendy I shall note your interest for a full days kayaking but as yet theres no one else for a full day so it might have to be afternoon only. Is it yourself for kayaking?

Is there still a place available for this? Would tie in nicely with the Fife meet.
Not paddled since Army days but have been considering buying a sit on for next season.

And I will have my double open Canoe which is very safe and stable for beginners or those of a nervous disposition or simply anybody who wants to try the Canoe vs Kayak.and see my post on 23rd October about sit-ons

If your back is suffering either the seat hasn't been adjusted correctly or the paddle is the wrong size for you.
Sit-ons HAVE to have a proper supportive seat that has been adjusted for the individual paddler

it was just the ones that Sandra & Mew hired last year Helen, they were just a piece of moulded plastic, no adjustment on them at all.
I'm looking forward to it next year

No wonder you had back ache! You were paddling with no lumbar support, I'm surprised you could walk afterwards. There is supposed to be a proper seat with cushioning for your back and your bum and there are all sorts of straps to adjust the seat support to your requirements. You'll need to look at ours.
I know a lot of hire centres don't bother with seats, I had a "discussion" with the staff at CentreParcs as they wouldn't let me use my own kayak and theirs didn't have seats. I asked them to sign a liability form in case of back issues since I had pointed out the lack of lumbar support but they refused
, so I didn't go kayaking.
