It's the monthly sale at the auction house down from me and I noticed this van in with the commercials. Always weary of MH's at auctions anyway but this one has done a seriously small amount of miles. Might pop down for a look at it through nosiness more than anything else.

Suspicious....
70miles in two years...
Something ain't right..

Someone bought it and only drove it down to the local park occasionally. I know someone who has only done that with their motorhome so far.

Wonder why it's in an Auction and not on a forecourt somewhere?

Bought quite a few motorhomes at auction and never had a major issue

Don't think it's the auction that's the problem - more the lack of use.

Could be any number of reasons why there is low mileage. Do research, ask the auction house to look at all available documentation they have. They should have carried out an HPI check. Take a damp meter etc

I'm not wanting it. I just thought it was an interesting lot.

We bought our present van when it was four and a half years old with 700 miles on the clock and had done just 50 miles in the previous two years which was going to get an MOT, and the "don't touch it with little use over the past years" has turned out to be bollocks as we bought a low mileage van in tip top condition for a fraction of the new price.
The couple that bought it new used it initially as accommodation while their new house was being built with the intention of then using it for touring when the house was completed, but shortly after the house was built the husband fell ill and after a fairly lengthy period he died.
The son had a full service and oil change done on the van each year even though it just stood on the driveway.
The van was given a full service and oil change along with a fresh MOT again when we bought it.

A lot of hire companies use them because of the size space internal layout, at 3500kg can be driven on a car licence.

They are very reliable as new .. as are any motorhome, but usually sell on before 3yr MOT and maybe before faults/repairs happen.

If you go to have a look, pop the bonnet and quickly take the plastic engine cover off (easy no tools needed - jiggle and pull) ..to see if there is rust around the injectors from water getting into the engine.

I won't have time to pop down for a nosey. I'll tune in on Wednesday though to check the bids.

No such thing as a bargain at these sales lately so I wouldn't expect it to go too cheap.

Well, it's not as if it's a budgie anyway.
