I was wondering what happens if you roll off a ferry/train after 8pm and are trying to get to a favourite overnight Aire or truckstop in France?
All a bit academic unless the FCO remove the current travel advice against all but essential travel to EU countries, which effectivly renders one's travel insurance null & void. CB.
I did exactly that last night

Probably 3-4 years according to my reliable informant.
Entirely possible, I believe the Spanish flue was three years before it burned itself out, wonder how, if at all, the vaccine will cope with Covid-19 in its present and future mutations.

Exactly my plan for next year 👍 i reckon its very easy to spend 3 months in greece then 1 month each in turkey, Bulgaria and Romania....i plan to explore a bit of each on my return trip home this year
A jolly fine plan too!! We may well copy you (y) Although Turkey is a very big place, and I reckon we could do a long time there. Been watching some travellers who've found themselves stuck there (Tread the Globe), and there's plenty to see and do.

The UK remains likely to be banned from Shengen from 1 Jan unless for essential travel.
This will be reviewed on 31 Dec.

Decision made today December 16.

“Please be advised that current epidemiological situation does not allow the UK to be included today in Annex I of the Council Recommendation on the temporary restriction on nonessential travel into the EU and the possible lifting of such restriction”.

Readers do take into account the present restrictions need to be revised at the end of this month.

Thanks for posting that billym - but not what I wanted to hear 😢

Same old nonsense
Time will tell and, good luck. 4 together arguing which way to go ,must be easier than 27 , that's the nonsense part , me personally I think it would be a shame to break up, examine the finance side.

No the shame was england dragging us out of europe that we were quite happy being part of as was most of England prior to 2015 when it was rarely mentioned. We get shat on by england and welcomed by europe. And constantly have to put up with people to lazy to research Scotlands wealth and assets sucked out by Westminster making comments like yours about subsidising.

Theres a reason Westminster grabs on to Scotland with white knuckles and it's not because they give a hoot about the scots.

Scotland receives 20% more per head of Population on average than the rest of the Uk , as far as I can make out this does not take into account North sea oil which is on the way out , also the study on Scottish Independence if it happens seems to be concerning how Scotland will fair, as the Australian EX. Prime Minister when asked about the UK adopting their trading relationship with the EU "Be careful what you wish for" looks to me we would be better off if you get what you want , Good Luck.

I am still waiting for my Scottish passport. Have a word with Nicola for me will you, tell her to get on with it and she can have my vote!! I am getting kind of fed up with the attitude of a lot of people in the south!! I don't have a problem with all of them, just the ones with attitude. If any one comes back to me about this post with daft comments,I will put you in the grumpy box and give you a one way ticket to Brussels as punishment.

We can't be that bad as you are living down here😃

What is the situation if you are already in France when 31/12/2020 arrives. Locked down obeying all the rules at our cottage?

How ironic people in England of Scottish blood wanting independence :xrofl:
Whats strange about that maybe my loyalty's lye in my birthplace. It was not my fault my parents brought me down here when I was a kid. You OK with that or shall I reserve a place in the big box for you?

If you're normally UK resident, you'll be able to stay at your cottage for up to 90 days from 1/1/21 and if you hold an EHIC card, that will remain valid for your current visit until you return to UK. No problems with re-entering the UK either, apart from whatever quarantine period is in force.

You shouldn't be considering yourself locked down now - just the curfew from 2000-0600hrs - I'm relishing the freedom of being able to leave the garden without having to plan it!:dance2:

13 million in England voted remain vs 1.5 million in Scotland - just sayin'

Hi

13 million in England voted remain vs 1.5 million in Scotland - just sayin'
And almost 100% in Gibraltar and a very high % in Northern Ireland, who are already being put in separate paragraphs to England and Wales on the Government websites. Soon it will be Great England on it's own! And that will be nothing to be proud of.
