Very good! 'You like buy my extremely expensive lamb or fish mr?'

So as Gus reveals, NOTHING TO DO WITH INFECTION RATE
Lets call it a Daily Mail Headline 😄

Respectfully, my numbers are the total infections( since day one) per million population note the word Total
And the uk per 100k rate is falling against Frances rising
Isnt a "Total" infection "Rate" a bit of an oxymoron ?

Under the same counting system The Wanderers (if they exist) are a better football team in knock out competitions than West Ham as since the FA Cup was introduced they have won it 5 times and West Ham only won it 3 times.

According to a news broadcast today the 3rd country rule is capable of being changed by individual countries depending on their own circumstances.

I don’t know if that is correct but, if so, it could be interesting to see e.g. Portugal taking all the Brit tourist business from France.

Don’t worry, everything will be fine by Friday 18th June 2021.

How do I know?.......My son lives in the Netherlands, his work colleague is French. His work colleague has invited me to the semi finals of the Top 14 (Rugby) in Lille.

What could go wrong? :censored: 😁

Out of interest where do you find the EU average on a daily basis?
Respectfully (!) I don't know. I have not found an official figure, and I don't know what kind of average they mean. But the EU say that the UK figure is higher than the EU average and therefore the UK will not be on the very small "safe" list; and on that last point, if they say so, then it is so.

Ok whatever you say

I worked it out rudimentally to be 157. 450 million residents. Current average of 204,000 infections per day so divided the 450,000,000 by 204,000 and divided that by the 14 days to get the 157 which may or may not make sense

And on your last point, Too right. I may be one of the ones that want to go away (In May) but only if legal and it is their choice because we made ours and theirs should be respected as much as ours should be.

Well that's part of what I meant about "what kind of average". For example, your calculation looks right for averaging over population, but if they average over countries the result for the EU average would be lower, because smaller countries happen to have lower rates per population.

Basically they are trying to make an example of us , they fear other countries wanting out
Of course. Anyone with a grain of common sense will realise that EU politicians can't allow a member state to leave and be better off outside without risking a flood of of leave applications. We even saw a FREXIT sign the last time we were in France.

Yes there have been rumblings of a Frexit, but I don not think it will happen. The French tend to look at EU regs and consider "are these rules good for us?" if yes they adopt them, if no, they tend to ignore them. GB plays (ed) by the rules and adopted everything then played hell afterwards.

Could be wrong, I often am.

Same in Poland, as I know to my cost with a current problem.

These rules have been in place for over 6 months for people entering EU from "third countries", that is why there are so few yanks in France this year.......... The loophole for Americans was flying to uk and then Eurotunnel to Paris, but that is obv shutting. This is not the EU punishing anyone, it is them giving the UK exactly what it supposedly voted for..........................

Of course, i should have mentioned, the third country entry restrictions are completely arbitrary and can be ignored by any EU member sovereign nation as it sees fit ................................... :reel:

No you're not!
If you speak to most French folks (except Parisians, 'cause they're not really French), you'll find they think the UK were mad to vote leave. They, like the Dutch, Spanish and many others think that the UK had one of the best deals within the EU.
Oh, I could go on but life is too short and I have a nearly full glass of Merlot looking at me and it needs to be savoured, slowly

True possibly but how do you get there? Through France? they might not allow it ? Boat to Northern spain ? Oh, the French own them also .:giggler:
If they want to make it difficult it doesn't take much.

Common sense I would have thought.
