Rally Malton Beer Festival

I have been busy making gin and orange marmalade, I will be offering these for £1.50 a jar with all proceeds going to Macmillan if anyone is interested.

This batch does seem to be a bit more ‘runny’ which could be due too little pectin or too much gin. :)

Do you remember @Anthea M and the saga of the broken mirror?
I am not happy with you taking 13 jars of marmalade #justfeltIshouldshare
I will donate £1.50 for the cause so you won't be out of pocket.

I was going to keep a few behind for personal use so don’t fret Andrea:LOL:

Hi Chris and Alice

Well of course our van is not going to be ready today, I am afraid we are not going to make it up to the meet.

Malton Beer Festival Plan for tonight

Several have asked what the plan is for tonight and tomorrow so here it is:

Tonight:
Approx 7:00 assemble in the snug ( smaller room with Tv in)
Bring Gin, nibbles. And Tonics.
Drink gins.
Make plan for tomorrow. Suggestions include: gin distillery visit, brewery visit ( there are 3), visit Beer Town, explore Malton,
Tomorrow:
follow plan(s) devised tonight (don’t all have to do the same)

Happy to report that all Funsters expected at Malton have arrived and are safely back in their respective vans ( more or less). Also very little gin was consumed as the decision was made to attend the local brewery tap room to drink craft beers. Whilst some Funsters objected to blueberries and various other abominations being in the brew, most were acceptable and there seemed to be no time for gin tasting, not even the purple stuff. Plan for tomorrow is to make a plan, which may involve brewery or gin distillery visits. And there is speculation of thrashing the locals in their own quiz night on Sunday in Old MAlton. Interesting locals met tonight included a retired lion Tamer / zoo keeper and a restorer of one armed bandits who had some inexplicable connection with the brewery, and the manager of said brewery who had all the aspirations of Emily Pankhurst in the brewing industry.

Just got home from the Malton Beer Festival, didn’t get to the festival, but enjoyed some good company and enjoyed meeting those of you who we’ve never met before, thoroughly enjoyed the weekend, thanks Chris, Alice, Paul and Angela for taking up the slack for this meet(y)

Thanks to one and all for making this such a fun meet. Whoever said it’s dangerous meeting people from the t’internet in a car park is clearly mistaken :)

Many thanks to Chris, Alice , Paul and Angela for their organisation skills, hope you do well in the quiz this evening.

Special thanks to Alice for her demo on patchwork my Amazon basket is now full of extra kit.

Home after a lovely weekend with a bunch of lovely friendly people, I have confirmed what I already knew I don’t like beer :):) so a food festival would be ideal for us.
Big thanks to Chris, Alice, Paul and Angela for organising and running the rally and making it such a good weekend.

Hope to see you all in a car park somewhere soon .
