Rally Chat Lymington Rally August 2018 - Isle Of Wight Day Trip

Yes please for 2 adults 1 dog.

Does anybody know roughly how much it is to take a car on the ferry? As we will have a tow car with us and may use that.

Thanks for that. Hopefully my walking will be good enough to use the coach. (y)

The most expensive ferry crossing in the world. £1 per mile

Will the trip go near osbourne house? ( Queen Victorias house I fancy a look?)

Early days, but I'll start a list of "places people would like to visit".
As my Great Great grandmother was in service there to Queen Victoria, it is a must!

Can you put the Badknees on the list please? Paul & Angela.

Interested but would have to take the dog. Will probably do a tour round in the MOHO another time instead.
As he is most certainly not a lap dog (even though he tries to be) We think space would be too limited for him in bus or coach. When we ride buses we find it all a bit cramped for him in the aisle.
So we are asking anyone with knowledge of that ferry route.....is it possible to walk into town from where the ferry docks on the IOW or not worth it?
John and Catherine

just tried to book 2 people and my little scooter for the ferry ...£ 39 ..... they have got to be jolking ...

It docks right in Yarmouth - I think that's what Lu can remember:LOL:

It is one of the most expensive ferries for the distance but hopefully worth it :)

For anyone who has Tesco Clubcard vouchers they cover the Wightlink ferry https://secure.tesco.com/clubcard/boost/wightlink-isle-of-wight-ferries/UK-004657.prd (£2.50 = £7.50) & did a dummy booking which confirms they do cover fares as a foot passenger http://www.wightlink.co.uk/go/tickets-prices/tesco-clubcard/ so a cheaper way to have a scenic boat trip & explore Yarmouth at the very least.

Us two and two dogs would be interested, have you got a date in mind ?

To keep everyone updated here is the propose current activities/events taken from the main rally thread:
Friday - Arrivals & invitation to all from 7pm onwards to come along with a mug or a glass full of your favourite tipple & gather in the "Meeting Area" .All very casual - bring a chair if you like or just wander around & chat to fellow members. We will probably still be working until at least 8pm but once everyones in & we've eaten we'll be there too :hi5:
