LPG professional (?) selling pumps to take LPG from bottles to your car tank?

The petroleum industry would classify this activity as highly dangerous, due to the area being a Zone1 hazardous area. (A zone where a flammable atmosphere may exist as part of the operation, in this case the gas transfer). Everything on this photo is available to make the fire triangle, - fuel, Oxygen and a souce of ignition from making or breaking the connection of the clips on the battery. And people think that this process is safe and acceptable!
I would have used a simpler reply, bloody stupid and dam dangerous.

I'm having a go at him on his Facebook... Anyone else care to join in?

Makes totally no sense, since when have bottles been cheaper than bulk at the pump.?
gas in large bottles are deemed to be for domestic use
whereas lpg refilling at garages for motorhomes
is calculated as a fuel for lpg engines running on lpg
I think with a letter of confirmation you can claim the VAT
back 😇 from the custom and excise
Good Luck

My house runs on LPG and I am paying c40p/l for it + 5% VAT. I did ask both Flogas and Calor if they would fit a valve to allow me to transfer the gas to the motorhome .. being used for the same purpose after all, coooking & heating.
Neither would consider it...

The trouble is you'd need a liquid take off not gas and they only do gas take offs.

Currently Flogas and every two years, shop shop around... I paid 29p/l until a year ago so not particularly happy about it; Covid & Ukraine have skewed the market. But wholesale prices are seriously low atm.
In the lpg market, if you can't shop around you are totally stuffed. Your communal tanks almost certainly belong to the current lpg supplier but even if not, provided they are compliant anyone can fill them.

Got o Martin's moneysaving website and search for lpg bulk supply thread on the forum ... it has lots of good advice.

Thanks can't see any thread.

Maybe this
Thanks I wasn't looking on forums. From first glance these are more domestic, we have 2 huge tanks that serve the estate that are buried. Calor service them and our meters annually plus refill when needed. Will work my way thru.
