36 years and 16 motorhomes
It must be holiday season in Norway as the Stellplatz are full of Norwegian motorhomes. They appear to travel in convoy. 3 nights ago a Carthago, Euro Mobil and a Morelo rocked up at the Stellplatz and parked fairly close to us. They proceeded to set up their table and chairs between the vans, not in an area I would have deemed as “theirs” and cracked open the beer at 11am. You can imagine how loud they were by 11pm. I bit my lip and eventually got off to sleep. Yesterday similar story with 2 Norwegian vans drinking until told to be quiet about midnight by a very big angry German. Today four vans roll in, I could feel my stomach sink. They parked close to us and started on the beer and spirits around midday. By 5pm the music is on loud and one of them takes his bikes out the garage. He then proceeds to try and prop it up against the back of my Motorhome. Let’s just say the reaction made the mad German the night before look very mild.
I don’t group everyone together as there is good and bad everywhere, but it seems to be a theme, they just don’t appear to follow any rules in relation to parking, camping and behaviour. They just seem to want to drink as much as they can.
Sorry for the rant, thunder storm now so everyone inside

Yes, thank you
Try *Scandi Happy Hour * on a Spanish campsite if you want noise...............the price of alcohol in the Nordic countries means that once over the border they go a bit mad, they can't take it back with them. I found the best way is to join in, yes they can be rowdy but tend to quieten down when you say you have an early start ( dont drink intoxicants by the way just soft drinks) Or get a set of bagpipes,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Ever since lighting was by Calor gas.
Have you seen the price of alcohol in Sweden?
A lot of Swedes buy a kit and make their own, but a common problem is that too often the instructions don't match what's in the kits.

Norwegians have two seasons.
Winter and Summer.

In the Winter they all stay in the warm and electric light of their offices and houses.
They do not socialise. It's too cold and dark.
By spring they all have 'cabin fever'.

In the summer, they all go a little mad.
They can take off clothing they put on 9 months earlier,
The less clothing the better!
If they travel south they can drink alcohol at silly cheap prices (only £6 a pint !!!!)
There are other people to talk to !

PARTY !!!!!!!

Similar experience the night before last in Norway. We parked up next to two Norwegian vans who were already huddled together. About 5pm the Bon Jovi came on, that then evolved into some heavier rock music (all pretty good stuff i must say) but they kept the music on until after midnight and actually they stayed outside drinking until around 3am. When we left at 8am the place looked like a recycling plant😂

As it was only one night it didn‘t bother us too much but there does seem to be a theme with these guys, music, late nights and a few beers…

One of the reasons why we are seriously thinking of jacking it in. I am so sick of finding pig ignorant selfish pond life every where I go.
Yes I know i'm an anti social old git.

There is a book reading Motorhome club but I can’t be bothered to find it 🤣

Jeez, where do you drink?
Just gone up to £4.70 a pint here.... And that's in a night club.
In Oslo a Pint of beer starts at around GBP 11 a pint,
Nightclub prices, if anyone was silly enough to buy booze in a Norwegian night club would be somewhere in the teens or twenty's (in GBP)

30 years ago. I regularly visited Norway supporting our customers in the Oil & Gas Industry. We would take our maximum allowance of Duty Free spirits, and sell them to our Norwegian colleagues at 100% markup. They considered that a real bargain.

One Offshore Service Engineer I worked with would drink a bottle of whiskey before a night out because he said " it then didn't cost him so much to get drunk"

One of the downsides of Stellplatz and airs.
Not suggesting there are not rowdy folk on camp sites from time to time but Germen ones tend to inforce their quiet times.

When I lived in Sweden, July was when most of Sweden's industry closed down for their annual holidays and very little managed to get done.
Get used to it because it sounds as if the same applies to Norway!

After 4days on the same Spelplatz, perhaps it's time to move on and find somewhere quieter? 😄

We're in Norway at the moment too. We don't seem to have any neighbours, noisy or otherwise! Actually, not quite true, those sheep are a bit antisocial with their bleating all night! 😀

I know that feeling .

Sometimes, I feel like I’m Misanthropic. Not to the point of killing people. But, it can get a bit too much.

Don’t get me wrong, live and let live. I don’t go anywhere, in particular to campsites and expect tranquility. But some people take it to the extreme .

I remember once, we were away in the south if France in a villa, having left the motorhome behind.

A group of rockers/bikers had set up a stage with electric guitars, amps, mics, the Monty on our favourite aire next to the beach. It was bad enough listening back at the villa. But the noise being next to them must have been felt.

I remember flying to Sweden in the 80's I think I was the only sober one on the flight, the Swedes were pissed out of their heads.

God that’s dear, £3.70 in my local at home, £3.40 in the clubhouse where I have my static.
Do you get any alcohol in it at that price?
£5-£6 a pint down here.

Plenty it’s just us up north won’t pay silly prices, my other local near my static is £4.20 a pint, that’s getting dear for me, however I get my card stamped and after five I get the sixth one free ! So actually works out at £3.50 a pint.
If it was £6 a pint I wouldn’t use pubs just have a drink at home or become tea total 😳
