Pretty much the same but without the sun🤷‍♂️🤣🤣🤣🤣
Yes it looks like car parks may have the edge 🤣🤣🤣🤣

We've decided that the most appropriate word for many of the Motorhoming community that visit Spain every winter is Selfish...
Their behaviour is somewhat annoying...having just left a free Camperstop here in Murcia with a 48 hour limit, it's obvious that some vans are there for the duration...Trailers, Awning, Tables , chairs and even a cattery set up...
This location is a walkers and cyclists area...no beach just a bar and shop, but these people are migrating inland as the Coast and IKEA are rammed...
Where we wake this morning on our own, is an incredible place, just as well we still know how to avoid the crowds...Cannot wait until Mid March, most winter visitors are heading home...having taken over Spain for the winter...then the charm, beauty and tranquillity return....
You have just invented a new motorhome word:

'FISHMONGER' (Verb)
A Selfish (geddit!) member of the motor homing community (typically in Spain, but not Spanish).
Who exceeds the maximum time (usually 24 or 48 hrs) in a free overnight motor homing location.
And despite rules to the contrary sets up tables, chairs, awnings and typically occupies at least double the space allocated per vehicle.

As I said in the first post, I’m happy enough to park anywhere for a night whilst transiting…. Just making the point, as I know there are nicer places within a short distance from La Zenia Boulevard or Mercia IKEA car park!

Nowt better than a FISHMONGER in a car park 🤣

I'm in the Parque do Rio in Silves.
Filipe the Man squeezes 52 vans on the "aire".
It has been full several times recently.
Outside on the large carpark there are probably as many vans again parked up for free.
The GNR seem cool as all the "official" spots are full.

Live and let live is what I say...

JJ

Unfortunately the Long Stay Motorhome parking is a strain on the limited Police and Guardia Civil services....if land owners want them off...then it down to the law enforcement to see it through...and the backing of the Local laws being in place.
A few hefty fines may be needed to get the word spread around....thank goodness that we haven't had a fire situation since the unfortunate one we had in Puerto Mazarron...but that was malicious ignition, costing the life of one occupant...
Campsite fire in Bolnuevo not too many years ago also...
We are parked up tonight on an official location....that's right...parked up...not camping...it's lovely outside...but we are sitting inside....because that the laws here...if a law enforcement officer wants us to leave and has a justification in his request...that's what we would do....not cause any bother to anyone....and no doubt jumartoo will be out later picking up litter....because we care about Spain... unfortunately many don't give a jot.😀🇪🇦🚴🏿🚴🏿

and the fire at La Manga a few years ago too. I’m all with you on this Martin. I must admit I’m more of a rule abided than breaker regardless of whether I agree with them or not.

I have no problem with how anyone else camps but some seem to have a problem with others who choose to camp differently to them ☹️

That's how we can afford £100k + vans. 🤣
I will make do with my 16 k van then..Don't mind a car park for a night when on route but when I am stopping for a few days or longer it's either a good camperstop..decent aire or good site...BUSBY.

Guests, like fish, begin to smell after three days. (Benjamin Franklin)
So a FISHMONGER looks like a very good word!
