Lola RIP

I’m so sorry to hear this, she looked like such a lovely dog xx

One of my bucket list, shared with my wife and dog, a brilliant holiday September 2017, this is us on the arctic circle in Norway

My mum said before she died, "As long as people talk about me and mention my name, I will not have died."

Looking at this thread, something tells me that Lola is going to live for a very long time to come. X
that is an ancient north American Indian belief, shared with many cultures round the world. Your ancestors and loved ones will never truly die all the time they are remembered with love

Sorry that you've lost Lola. We only met her a couple of times and our memories of her are...

Following you on to the services at Abington on our way to the Falkirk wheel meet when she must have been ready for a wee and exploding out of the hab door followed by an almost horizontal Bev into the bushes.

You trying to escape the midges like a demented madman at Luskentire with Lola looking up at you as if it was normal behaviour.

Same time and place watching Lola trying to lick up the remains of Bev's G&T after she (Bev) had done a triple with pike out of the Hab door.

It does hurt but it will get better.

RIP Lola,
You gave her a fantastic life and it was a pleasure meeting her at meets. Her memory will live on forever.

There is nothing I can say that will help to heal the sorrow of loosing such a great companion like your Lola.
I just hope the memories of her will comfort you at this very sad time.
Best Wishes Tony

Oh bugger, the screen's gone all fuzzy & out of focus.

Only just seen this. I know you've been dreading the day for a while. I know you viewed the last couple of years as bonus, but that doesn't make it any easier.

I like dogs, but I wouldn't normally describe myself as a dog lover. But, along with many other funsters I suspect, I feel as I've lost a friend too. Lola was the best dog I ever met.

Hugs to you both. I don't normally go round hugging blokes, but in Lola's memory, I'll make an exception. After all, she was the most huggable dog going.

We will cherish her memory.

I don't know you but can feel your pain. What a lovely looking dog. What a life! - 14 countries with you in the Motorhome - even I haven't managed that. Lucky you, lucky dog.

Beautiful friend and family member, really feel for your loss. We love these loyal and loving creatures but the thought of losing one stops us having one. But one never knows.

Sorry thinking of you it's hard to say goodbye ray&Julia xx

We are so sorry for your loss even though we never had the pleasure of meeting Lola.

We too had to say goodbye to our 14 year old Staffie Moomoo on 24th January so we understand the heartbreak you will be feeling.

RIP Lola, say hello to Moomoo at rainbow bridge

Today I was shopping in our town when I saw some rather cute tete a tete daff bulbs in a little watering can and decided to buy them and take into our vets

Told them they were a thank you for how they handled last week and a little reminder for a while of Lola

They looked really touched and said they will remember Lola for her size, smile and good nature for a long while

I had only been gone for about an hour when the vets rang to say Lola’s ashes were in, they came in soon after I had been in, so I said I would be down later to pick them up

That then started a whole thought process off, so I rang Bev and we agreed to go in together, just been and I thought I would share here what we now know having never had ashes returned of pets or relatives

We got to the vets and unfortunately a new girl didn’t recognise us and asked could she help, so I just about got out ‘we have come for Lola please’ and she went out the back, I said to Bev I have no idea how big whatever we get will be. We had a shopping bag half full of shopping it seemed wrong to put her in there, Bev always carries one of those screw up into themselves bags and got that out, but we didn’t need it

I guess all similar services will vary, but this is how we got Lola back

A nice bag with a cardboard casket inside

Inside that the dispensing tube we had ordered, much prettier than I expected

But I was a bit worried about the hole size, thinking it was bound to block

But I have now been brave enough to open the top and there is another cardboard seal inside, not overly obvious how to get my that off and no instructions.

But we did also get this card, I hope it was ‘individual’ although it really doesn’t matter now

Need a sit down and discuss when and where to put her now, I would like her in our garden, she loved lying in the shrubbery, put there with some spring bulbs for annual reminders seems right, but we both need to agree

If in our garden we will see if our girls want to be there at same time when we spread them

Hi David

That tube looks very much like the one we got my Mum back in, actually it was a lovely woodland scene with daffodils(y)

Think about how you would feel if you decided to move?
