Lithium batteries - what do you make of this ?

After 10 minutes I wanted to hit the bloke with a lump of wood !
Classic case of a little knowledge and he becomes am expert .............
Hit him a second time for me if you would please. I think you are being generous with “a little knowledge” but I guess he means well. Perhaps let him off the second hit, at least we all know that things need to be installed properly.

Top marks to Alpha for looking after their customer.

Another good watch has just popped up on my YT feed, I think YT's algorithm has finally got with the program. :D

Limited supply of these in the UK but I'd use them in a heartbeat if the price came down a bit.

Maybe bogeit John should watch a few of these before giving out advice

Great video, very informative...
BUT.. I will avoid any further from these guys ( the person(s) who posted the video ) as he is another one who suffers terribly from what I call 'Blair Hands'
Cant stand it ( bit like finger nails on a blackboard ! ) when presenters do bird impressions :-)

I take it you mean Andrew? Well he seems to like Dick.... 9.37&11.32 ?

They must come by ship from HK so it must take a few weeks I guess.
I don't know how but they've just shipped from Hungary. If I'm not mistaken, Hungary is in the EU so no import duty to be paid!! ?????

Just because a video is on the internet, it doesn't make it a fact or the poster knowledgeable

Are you going to treat us all to a review Andy?

Can do. :)
Should be able to install it in the MH over christmas but I do need to source a decent BMS and high current switch as there's no BMS out there that can do 200+ amps so will have to offload the cut off relay remotely.
There's a new updated BMS from 123 systems coming out Jan 2020, might go for that as it's completely modular and expandable to any size battery, down side obviously is cost... It'll cost as much as the battery itself did :D

3000w
6000w peak
and it's the size of a house :D

Oh good. Looking forward to see how it progresses.

Those camels must have got a shift on up the Silk Road. :)
But China's Belt and Braces project, or whatever it is called :) will be bringing more stuff the same way.

Not having the need to run coffee makers and the like I decided that a 1000 watt Sterling pure sine wave inverter would cover what we were likely to throw at it, which in turn meant I could use a 120 amp BMS and kept the cost down.

In time I want to do away with the LPG and stick to electricity ;) so an induction hob is going to need a bit more power :D

You know I wondered what happened to Kermit the frog ? ?

Hadn't seen this thread as wasn't around at the time.

Having now watched the video I'm a little speechless tbh.

The guy means well but is a plank. Am I being mean to planks? Maybe. A plank would make a better, more interesting and informative video and wouldn't need to eat pies between takes.

Hi Andy.
How did you get on with your battery pack build? Did you source a good bms in the end?
A friend of mine is using a REC bms with a Nissan Leaf pack, wired 7p7s. A 48v nominal for his house. It’s quite expensive for a small pack but I’m also looking for a cost effective 200a ish bms myself. The ones on ally express do not inspire me much confidence.

The guy in the vid has loads of U Tube clips about his motorhome set up and reviews quite a lot of products too. This is the first time I have seen him slated in this way.

. This is the first time I have seen him slated in this way.

Quite a few people have put him right on youtube, but they are way outnumbered by his faithful who believe every word he says. Probably most of his videos are OK, but the couple highlihted on fun show that he is not bothered and is happy to make an authorotive (NOT) video talking crap just for the affiliate clicks and ad share

I personally have never got past around a minute on any you tube video as have to switch them off at the point where I have lost the will to live and am actually rummaging the drawer for sharp knives ⚠️??

Amazingly there are people that do know what they are talking about and have very good information to offer on YouTube, some are Funsters and one of those has been involved on this very thread.
There are of course many many on YouTube that talk out of their arse and spew out content just to make a buck, but with common sense you can see through them.
Personally I like to learn and broaden my horizons and on certain subject I have found information invaluable and interesting on YouTube.
