Lithium batteries cannot just drop in and replace lead batteries can they?

That makes sense but I would have thought that having the B2B go live and put an additional drain on the engine battery at the very time the battery is needed for engine starting is not ideal.
Decent B2B's check the engine battery status prior to allow charging to begin on the leisure side

But would you use a KS battery after reading this? irnbru

Or Roamer then if that's what you are worried about...

Taken from their website.. ;-

"In the event of a proven manufacturing defect or battery failure that meets the below warranty terms and conditions, we will either repair the battery (usually by replacing internal components such as cells or the BMS) or replace the entire battery with an equivalent (or better) product from our current range. If we are unable to repair or provide a suitable replacement then we will refund the original purchase price. Please note that Bluetooth is not an essential feature for battery operation and any issues with Bluetooth (no signal or weak signal for example) are not covered under warranty."

I'm not great at this stuff but my understanding is the D+ comes off the alternator so will only click into action once the engine has actually fired. So the connection wont be there until the engine has taken the load off the starter motor anyway?
I think you are right Jon, the D+ floats from negative to positive as the alternator starts to generate, when it becomes positive the ignition light goes out and the D+ signal tells anything that cares that the alternator is working.

I am considering getting my NE237 control unit 'altered' by Apuljack to sort out the split charge issue. To me it's worth doing as it will settle my mind on whether I need to do anything or not!

Is there a Funster discount or coupon that anyone knows of?
Has anyone had theirs 'altered' ?
Did you ever go down the Lithium road and did you get your NE237 modified?

Yes and no .... Lithium has been in and working great for over 18 months, didn't get the NE237 modified as there is no need. It charges up to 99% on LA setting and that's more than enough!
Solar tops up the last 1% if it was ever needed!

Great thanks for the update. Which lithium did you go for?

Fogstar 304Ah but as others point out, the 280Ah is better value £4£ .....

Take a look at the Fogstar range, they even offer a pretty decent build it yourself option. I would go for as big as you can afford that will fit in the space available.....
