Rally Lincoln Motorhome Show September 2023

Who of the Funsters going to Lincoln want to talk to me about their van then (y)

Does anyone know if dogs are allowed at this show, please? I looked online but there's conflicting information;

If dogs weren't allowed, it wouldn't be worth them holding the show. Yes, dogs are allowed. Mine will be there. (y)

Fabulous! Thank you so much :) Our trips have timed just right this year and we can go to Lincoln AND the NEC for the first time ever :) :dance2:

Hi Ken you are not on Jims list above.
Lee
Good morning Lee, yeah I noticed that yesterday, absolutely no idea why that was, as always I filled all the sections from Jim's initial intro page for Lincoln,
it's easier and straight forward takes seconds and job done, got acknowledgement from Warners by return,
Just spotted Jim's list not including me yesterday and re registered the info re arrival,
Hope the gammy leg is fully recovered Lee,
Look forward to seeing you,
Cheers,
Ken

No sleep for Funsters until after 11pm being that close to the entertainment venue.

Thanks for the info.

Little chance of being hit by a stray axe anyway!

Just a question for those who have been before.

In the showguide it gives details about entertainment of an evening.

Under the entertainment guide it says that no chairs are to be taken into the venue as per below.. So does that mean that chairs are provided or that folk are expected to stand all night ?

Conditions of entry:• No chairs are to be brought into the venue • No dogs are allowed in the venue except for guide dogs • No alcohol is to be brought intothe venue – bags will be checked before entry • Evening entertainment is only open to those camping on-site for the weekend and is on afirst come first served basis. • Please note if free entertainment venues reach capacity, a one in one out policy will be enforced. • Saturdaynight main entertainment requires a separate ticket and parental guidance is advisable. • The organisers reserve the right to vary or alter theentertainment line-up and due to environmental health regulations, all entertainment must finish by 11pm.

Chairs and tables are provided 👍
But you get many people who stand around the edges or nearer the stage, on some occasions I have seen people bring their own chairs and set up in groups in areas that are meant to kept clear, so I guess that is why it is now mentioned.

We can bore you to death about both vans Jim, but you might regret it

We will drop in as day visitors. Which day is weather dependant. Saturday looks favourite at the moment, as the only day forecast to be without rain at some point. Means we won't be able to sneak round for a bacon butty on Sunday morning though.

Am I correct that there will be no MHF tent in the show itself?

Anybody had tickets yet mine not arrived yet

Yes 2 days ago.
My son is a postie, most sorting offices are a mess, we had no mail for a week then everything together on a Saturday.

Think tea tent will be on the MHF site
Isn’t Jim watching the Rugby ?

“ Though bring your own tea and biccys for Lincoln next year as we’ll be in France for the Rugby World Cup!”

Rosie and I have booked a day ticket for Saturday. Not looking for anything special which means I shall buy loads!

Have decided on the spur of the moment to go for Friday and Saturday nights. But the first (and so far only) outdoor show we have been to was Peterborough in, I think, 2012. Then it was so boggy that we, and near everyone else, had to be towed off! Not an experience we want to repeat - can anyone hazard a guess on what the conditions are likely to be like at Lincoln? TIA...

Just noticed I'm not on the list, resubmitted the form arriving Friday morning.

just to let you know will not be arriving now until saturday lunch time due to comitments on friday

Here we go then, the Lincoln Finale. We are in a different location this year so look out for Funster signs and Flags. Like everywhere else; Lincolnshire has had a fair bit of rain recently but a lot less than most. The showground is a good one well drained and we don't expect any problems. That said bring your bread crates or anything else to put your wheels on. Just in case.

The trade/tea tent is in the Rally Area this year and will be open from when you arrive until bed time on Saturday night. We'll be serving free tea and biccies for the duration. We'll also be making badges and handing out stickers if you need them.

Saturday afternoon around 3pm we'll hold the now traditional Sausage Fest and we'll be cooking a few hundred Lincolnshire sausages for you all. These are free but a charity box will be nearby. I note we have a few musicians with us so maybe we'll be entertained with our sausages who knows. But maybe bring along a beer just in case.

No tent on Sunday as me and Siân will be making a quick getaway to a Dover Ferry. :france:
