Lifestyle Change Can Happen In Seconds...

Now living in my Hymer 660, parked up on QMJ like a static, the latest problem preying on my (troubled) mind was... how do I top up my gas?

I have a twin bottle GasLow system fitted and, no longer being able to drive the vehicle on the road, it seemed that I might have to change my system to an exchange Portuguese bottles one and live with all the headaches that would cause me.

Then...

The cunning plan hit me!

I used to have another Gaslow system fitted to my old Iveco seld build stealth van and, although several bits of the system had been used helping out others, I still had the filler "thingy", a stainless steel pipe and a spare (6kg) bottle.

So, giving Cheyne The Shed Builder and his supervisor Nigel a break from woodwork, I asked them to drill a hole in the side of Chunky The Kangoo and fit the filler and pipe to it...

So, with the pipe secured and an empty Gaslow bottle cable tied to the floor, I drove off to the GPL station and filled it up.

Problem sorted...

Now... how do I sort out my aching legs, hamstrings, arms, shoulders, back and arthritic left hand?

Can't you use a Portuguese bottle connected to your fill point with an adaptor hose, then just change the bottle, leaving the gaslow units in place. Not sure on the cost of Portuguese bottled gas but that's what we used in Spain when on site for 10 weeks or so. The repsol a 13kgs was as cheap as lpg.

Thank you for your input.

I am sure I could indeed do as you suggest, but can't see any reason to do so at this time.

At least you are mobile JJ.
not sure if you met Paul who Overwintered in Silves for10/12 weeks in a Ford Fiesta.
plank for a bed, cooking on his little camping gaz stove balanced on his legs. Used the local library for daily necessities. Used to heat water in a black bag and took himself of into the hills to shower.

Bottled propane in Portugal is very expensive compared to forecourt per ltr price, last 13kg bottle refill i brought in Portugal was around 24euros, across the border the same size Spanish bottle was 11.50 euros so would think the Gaslow option will be the best.

Yesterday 20 kgs GPL cost me €13.43.

I assume you mean litres otherwise you must have arms like Popeye to move a cylinder with that much in! :ROFLMAO:
