Lenny's on the Road again

Last time we stopped there, Janie filled a bag with nice plums, we used to park the other side of the road near the bridge right by the canal 4 or 5 spaces with electric, don't know if it's still there. 😁 Bob
As FIDGET says that bit now closed to Motorhomes wouldn't have been able to park there as full with fishermen's cars.

Why was Campirama a drama ?
Anyone who has delt with Campirama would know, organisation is not there strong point.
I asked how long "15 - 30 min no more" 2 hours later we escaped.

Better than most of the day which it often is, woe betied you if if runs into lunchtime and they stop for 2 hours.

Much the same as our old German dealer

Always had to wait around at least half a day, sometimes longer, only to find they hadn’t got all the parts.

Enjoy your trip! Looking forward to reading about it 😃

Had a wander around the village not much to see.

Here we are the only ones on an Aire with room for at least 50 vans & where I parked there is not ehough room on the parking area for a van to park in front of us.
So in comes a tipical pillock of a Frenchman and parks right across the front of us, half on the grass completely blocking our view. He walked about a bit and I kept glaring at him and he got hint and moved forward a bit so we have part of our view back.

After he moved, before he was right across our bow.

After the drama of Campirama we headed back to France.
Stopped on an Aire for lunch at Catillon-sur-Sambre, right beside a canal and we are they only ones here so decided to stay for the night.
I noticed DBK has been here in 2018View attachment 542116View attachment 542117View attachment 542118
We’ve stayed there a couple of times, was a motocross track just along canal in front of you van and there used to be an Aire across the road but that’s now shut.
Nice peaceful stop.

Hope you have a great time. Will be following with envy and for some places we may like to go. Have a nice drink for me with some lovely food

Have a good trip Lenny try and get back from this one without losing a part of your anatomy 👍

You say peaceful night , down on the old site along side the canal , could be a bit noisy as big vehicles trundle a cross the metal bridge

Have they finished the service point? It was a work in progress when we were there. But you could use the one the other side of the noisy bridge where the canal boats moored.

Finished but out of order, the drain was blocked with leaves but the wc point flushed so will be able to empty the poo, got enough water for another 2 or 3 days.

A bit of a change today its been peeing down all night. I'm sitting in bed with a cupper heating on, blinds drawn, lights on. There's a bloke outside my window raking up the grass they cut yesterday in the pouring rain.

Note to self:
Go south boy, go south.

I wouldn’t complain too much Lenny. As it currently stands, when you book a damp check with certain Hymer dealers in the UK, you have to leave your van with them for a week because of COVID. Shocking!

We are currently in France and were hoping to tour Brittany but the weather was cr*p so headed south to Sainte-Maries-de-le-mer. 24 Celsius today with 11 hours sun. Swimming in sea daily. Bloody lovely and not another Brit in sight.
