Since 1996, had Elddis/Swift/Rapido/Rimor/Chausson MHs. Autocruise/Globecar PVCs/Compactline i-138
On my Carthago that feed was only live when the media button was pressed, which also made the head unit live.
Yeah I know 😁 ... In my defence we haven't used the TV for 2 years so I'd forgotten. 😄

I've fed one direct from leisure battery to the end of the bench seat, there is a wire run under that you may be able to tap into.

Hello:)
I’m at the Düsseldorf motorhome show and enquiries about up plating my Carthago I138 compact. I have upgraded my front axle strut/spring. Now I need an assist air bags on rear to get a gross weight of 4000kg. However if Lenny is going for full air suspension then the max weight on a 37L chassis is 3,850kg!
Please see attached info given to me by VB.

With uprated springs on front and rear air you can go to 4t with 2250 on rear

Really? Mine will go to 3960 without modifications ( and currently is plated at that). Photo attached is the original plate, clearly showing 3960kg . 1960 front and 2000 rear. Adding semi air or full air gives an extra 200kg at the rear.
Mine is 9 speed auto, as is Lenny HB. So total available weight is 2160kg. Lenny knows this to be true.
I think he has abandoned this thread, however.

No you are plated at 3700 according to that plate but what does the converters plate say as that's the one to go by.

Thats the Carthago plate as it is an A class with Alko chassis. I've updated to 3960. 1960 front and 2000 rear., no mods required. 9 speed auto, uprated front springs are standard for the auto box, as are heavier duty alloys.
Honest....., Lenny knew all this before he bought his van, he did his research.

Mine didn't have uprated front springs and was 3650 so had to have rear air and front springs uprated to get to 4t but most importantly 2250 on rear. Maybe you've got a different chassis to mine.

Russell's Dad That looks a completely different plate to my carthago one or did you get VWE or SV to up plate it?

The first one is the plate at the footwell at the passenger door (nearside). The second is after up-plating with no mods via VWE.
Ah that explains it, what was the original carthago plate?

My plate is the same as Russell’s Dad’s first vin photo , however the limitation (as explained by VB/Alko reps) is not the axle max’s, but the chassis. In this case 37L max is 4000kg. I am upping the rear to 2,250kg as I need more than 2,000kg.
I do not wish to cause offence, only trying to pass on the info I have learnt, as it was in a discussion on this thread earlier:)

Yes that's what SV said you can't just add the 2 axles up.

I'm a newbie and always will be. You never know it all.
Bedding from the old van it doesn't suit this one, & doesn't fit. I will have to get the sewing machine out and make some new fitted sheets in a more subdued colour.
Think you need to do the same with those bloody shorts!;)

But I do 8000-10,000 miles over the water about 1000 in the UK and the car only does 1000.
With our narrow roads with overgrown hedgerows LHD is much easier in the UK.
And you will still find a lane thats too narrow where bushes jump out and attack the side of your pride and joy.
Don't ask me how I know, I just do.:(

Waste pipe was in a stupid place behind the rear wheel. Prime target when reversing the overhang over kerbs & for collecting muck off the rear wheel.

Well it's not any more moved it to in front of the wheel.

God created Yorkshire as his own county, BUT he created The Highlands for his holidays.
So why did he create all the bloody midges surely they can't all be on holiday in the Highlands.;)
