Leisure battery & Spare wheel

We know we are are stupid , honest we really were looking for it. Nobody would ever find your valuables in there , you have to get your self in an unnatural position just to remove cupboards, it’s under the pull down bed , in the smallest gap between wall and drivers seat, and oh yes forgot to add hubbys still there can’t retrieve himself, been taking food out to him for the last few days as he can’t move, doctors fitting a colostomy bag and catheter today as there’s no shifting him, but his happy his in the Hymer!!! There is nothing he would not do to spend a few days out in the Motorhome. So sorry you now have to put up with me.

I must reduce the portion sizes then , I think he likes it there, his not complaining.

I often spend days in my Hymer modding & fettling it what better way to spend your time apart from using it. :)
Have a look at my "modding the new gin palace thread" (link in my signature).

Not sure be stuck on the floor not being able to move was what he had in mind!! . Think he wanted something a bit more physical.

Try to download Google Translate from play store. Handy for reading german etc

The manual in German, translated still did not tell us where the battery would be.

so pleased you found it - the suspense was getting too much :eek::eek:

Oh yes found it, rung brownhills asked them if they knew, after telling me all the places you suggested, somebody who worked on Hymers years ago said it is hidden in the small panel at the side of drivers seat, told us to take all panels at bottom off and prise the floor up, which appears not to be removable and it’s under there hey presto, we found it. Thanks so much for all your help. Why build a cupboard on top of it.

Ain’t you glad you are a member of Mhf :-) best £15 you will ever spend I think !!!!! :-) and tyBjs fir letting us all know the outcome

Hi,
I own a BM640. I have a bench seat with dinette on the other. If yours is similar lift the bench seat top and at the front (behind) the passenger seat look carefully at the floor and there should be a covered aperture. It can be hard to spot but, mine is a bit larger than two batteries side by side. There will be a hole, put your finger through and pull up. If it's like mine all will be revealed. If not my apologies but that is where mine is!

Thanks for your input but already found it, see previous reply’s. Ok he made his way out, I stopped feeding him as suggested and out he popped, starving and aching after having spent a couple of days stuck in the footwell of the camper ,finding that bl—dy battery. I think I liked it more when he was stuck. Now he wants feeding again ,and he is feeling quite big headed that he found it. Just don’t ask him to get it out when it needs changing, he could be there for a week , getting in the right position undoing the terminals then trying to lift it out whilst laying upside down in a s position. Then he has to get it out and restart the process to get a new one in. Who designed this stupid place to put a battery. Thankfully it’s fully charged.

Hi there,
In our right hand drive 1999 b544 the leisure battery is under a panel in the floor to the right of the front seat under the long brown lockers.
Our spare wheels is also in the same position as yours, it took me ages to find out how to get it out, even had the wife crawl in to have a look!

Happy searching,

Dave

All's well that end well!

Hi, glad you found it. From experience, if you have another problem/query, do drop an email to Hunter. They are very quick in replying and very precise.

We had a 1997 B644 with no passenger doors just habitation door. Both leisure batteries were located between the front seats and side of van on each side, i.e where you would step in if you had van doors. Under the floor accessible by hatches under matting.
