Leisure battery & Spare wheel

No checked everywhere honest. I am really at a loss. Somebody out there must have or know somebody who has, or might of had a 1997 Hymer B544 RHD, PLEEEEASE

You said previously that everything works, did you mean 240 volts and 12 !
If the previous owners wife knows nothing about the van could her husband have removed the battery for some reason (y)

Ok that give us a good place to start looking , thank you so much, the 12 volt and 240 volt both work independently. So we must have one.

In my 2001 B584, (not double floor) the original Leisure battery is under the left hand front seat.

have you looked in the bottom of the wardrobe?

Just been for a look with the torch, the battery cable is black and appears to go straight down but the gap is about 2 inches so u can only see it for a few inches, then it reappears at foot level you can just see it at the back of a cupboard in a bit of conduit and it disappears in an unknown direction, just can’t see where it goes.

Out of interest, assuming the picture in your avatar is your Hymer, what is in the locker that is above the grey skirt behind the near side door?

No that’s not our van, sorry.

Ah, that’s where the leisure battery(ies) would normally be.

Not on ours sadly,!!!!!

Just had a thought, although this may be entirely off-course. Hymer normally fit low-profile batteries, particularly if they are going under a front seat. That is to prevent the terminals touching the seat chassis. If, by any chance, the previous owner decided to fit a more commonly found higher-profile battery, it would have to be relocated. Can you look under the seats with a mirror (great if you have an inspection mirror on a stick) and see if there is evidence of additional cables being connected to the original installation. If so, try and follow them.

Another really ‘off-the-wall’ thought: what gas system/bottles do you have?

Nothing under the seats, we have a large bottle in the gas locker and have now added a refillable 12kg bottle at the side. We have taken bottle out and cleaned locker so nothing in there.

I have a Hymer B574 1998 LHD Ducato chassis ,with driver's door .
On the passenger side ,(your driver's side) is the boxed in ELB so possibly the same chassis as you.
On mine the batteries are under the front seats.
Originally 1 under driver's seat LHD.and I found additional wiring leading to tother side ,wrapped in insulation tape and cable tied up out of site. So I fitted a 2nd. The only way to get at the batteries on mine is lift off the seats as 110A are still to the back of the seat box with about 6" space to the front.
I can only assume battery(s) has been taken out for some reason

Under our seats is completely empty the whole size of the seat area is available for storage, no cables nothing.

Another thought I remember looking at a fault for another funster (can't remember user name) I believe that was a Hymer rhd and behind the driver's seat was a small bench seat facing inwards with the battery underneath the floor of the seatbox .
Bet you've looked there if similar (n)
As @JeanLuc says stumped :(

Yes , we have two long seats , one with an L shape at end which has the water container in it. Otherwise completely empty, and no flaps, traps, openings in them.

Tracing the wiring back from ELB is the way forwards then I recon.
Would love to know the outcome ,should /when you find it(y).
Very curious !
Wouldn't be taking all aux power from starter battery ,would it??

A couple of pictures of your layout will help, I have a 2012 b544 and my batteries are under the bench seat.... but not visible as it looks like nothing is there until I unscrew a flooring panel to reveal them. They are next to the fridge....

But I have a double floor...

Mine are in this location under the seat and under the floor panel..

Ok, been under the mh can’t see any cables coming out underneath for the battery, been back in the engine compartment and underneath the engine bay no trace , now just at a loss, all hope has faded.

Oh yes found it, rung brownhills asked them if they knew, after telling me all the places you suggested, somebody who worked on Hymers years ago said it is hidden in the small panel at the side of drivers seat, told us to take all panels at bottom off and prise the floor up, which appears not to be removable and it’s under there hey presto, we found it. Thanks so much for all your help. Why build a cupboard on top of it.

Are you saying that you can not trace the cables that run power to your distribution board ? Cause by the sounds of it thats your only hope:D
Andy
Ahh you have succeeded ... (y)
Well done

Why not contact Hymer direct or ask at one of the shows, I’m sure someone will be able to help you. Or Hymer in uk.
