Sue it will look amazing ! Lucky baby!
Let them wash it with their own powder and fabric conditioner they may use a special one to them!

I love those squares! Can’t wait to see the finished article.
I always wash things before giving them to the eventual recipient. For both hygiene and quality control reasons! If it’s for a newborn make sure you use non bio powder though, or Fairy.

I wondered the same about the baby things I have crocheted and have decided that I will wash in a gentle non bio liquid and a pure baby fabric conditioner.

Does anybody know if the craft cutter in Alde this week will help me do these with practice? Thank you.

My eldest is expecting again and I’ve done shawls or blankets of my choosing for all the others so I asked her if she wanted to choose this time. I showed her this same pattern on Pinterest which she likes so I might well be doing one too!

I was tempted by them too but I have enough crafty things to do without that as well! I did buy some yarn though....

@SueTayBon , what are the pegs ? Never seen anything like that before and wonder if I should be doing more with my knitted squares for South Africa . Love the animal faces.

Hi crochet squares are not actually square and I use a blocking board to pull them into the shape. I imagine knitted squares are actually square

Yes, I am guilty of that, just finishing this round ......

I have been converted to circular needles, the ones with the interchangeable points, they take a bit of getting used to and you must use the tool to tighten them up when you change the points but they take so little room and it is so easy to take the needles off and put "stops" onto the end of the cords. I've nearly finished Martin's sweater (an old pattern i have adapted very heavily) and he has tried it on - another advantage to round knitting as no sewing up except for under the arms and it can be tried on as you go :) Photos when it is finished.

Not usually! Well, not the ones I make... They always need blocking too.

my last project, long time since i have done a cardi, can't get over the price of buttons.

Broken Link Removed it's not as untidy looking as it is in the photo. quite a bit of yarn left over, so have cast on for a jumper, old favourite first knitted it when i was in my teens found the pattern again in a charity shop. will then start on my stash lots of aran different colours so may do a multicoloured one for me.

Love that cardi and the colour, well done Sue!

Yes that really is lovely.

Buttons can be really expensive, I've been known to buy yukky cheap clothes just for the buttons but sometimes places like The Works have buttons, I got some really nice flower buttons from there last year. I've jars of small buttons but very few big ones, often thought I should make my own, especially as we have that 3D printer :)

EDIT: I finished knitting Martin's sweater at knit and natter this morning. It's knitted in the round so only underarm seams to do and all the loose ends to weave in. I think it is too long but he wanted it to cover his bum so that's what it does. It's more like a dress on me. I'll probably put elastic inside the lower edge hem casing (no rib but a folded hem).

You’ve all been very busy, some lovely projects :)

I have been a bit slack coming on here lately but have been crafting too much as usual (if there is such a thing ;) ) a bit of cross stitch and crochet. At the moment I am attempting amigurumi at the moment, I have made a couple of rabbits which I am not too happy with and am now trying there Llama no drama from redheart.com. I am enjoying it but blimey the fur stitch takes a long time!

Here are the little bunnies

Unfortunately I’ve had to frog the Llama body as I suddenly realized I had twice as many stitches as I should have :(

I am hoping to sell a few bits and pieces to cover some of the costs of this addiction. Not sure if that will be possible ha ha

Thanks. I always wondered what blocking meant——- and now I know !

For buttons I can recommend Amanda https://www.consciouscrafties.com/crafties/mrs-arthurs-button-shop/
Conscious craftiest is a group of crafters who all live in some way with a chronic medical condition.
