I have made two bags for granddaughters filled with sewing bits in fabrics that match their quilts. There are others almost completed now that I have a source for the beads.

@snailtrailer they are lovely and so useful.

Here are some photos of the quilt (still a work in progress) I am working on at present - the Bride and Groom wanted black and white and I added a pop of Bali Batik for interest....... some graffiti work (not done that before but I enjoyed doing it - subversive quilting) and a photo of the section I am working on although I have run out of thread so am waiting for new thread to arrive as neither of my local shops had that make or weight in stock.

Helen, that is so lovely, the bride & groom will be thrilled I'm sure.
I'm now hand sewing my next quilt project, it is likely to take months & months, but handy for taking in the van. I've spent a lot of time as a visitor in a hospital & hospice recently, so although I'd much rather that I hadn't been needed there, I used the time to do more than if I'd been at home.

These are lovely too, I especially like the arrangement on the top photo. What a talented lot you are.

Lorraine @The Happy Hooker What a lovely project - I love the colours and the shape is interesting.

@Puddleduck A real work of art Helen. I think the quilt is lovely. I really ought to have another go at twiddly quilting, I'm rather stuck with stitch in the ditch (which means I'm literally in a rut:eek: as far as quilting goes).

I am always nervous and almost frightened before I start on the free motion quilting but once I have put a few stitches in I relax and start to have fun :) If you can draw something then you can stitch it :) :) and the quilt often tells you what it wants, the quilter is just the conduit.

Poppy time!!!

Not heard from @movan as to whether she still wants my poppies and I need to post them in the next week or so whilst I'm in the UK.

Sooo if anyone @Janine ??? would pm me their address I'll get them in the post.

This is a church in Anglesey where Dave's parents live. After I'd sent poppies to Helen, I heard that they were also collecting them, so did a few more. The installation isn't complete yet, hopefully we'll see its full glory when we are back in November.

That is already quite something, so should be amazing when it is finished!

I hope everyone is okay and crafting happily.

We are off on our long winter trip now and currently in Portugal so plenty of crocheting time :)

I’ve just finished my first pair of slippers which I hope will form part of my sisters Christmas present and have also started a cosy blanket which I am loving doing but blimey is it a yarn eater! The slippers are not perfect but hopefully they’ll keep her feet warm ;)

My wife has crocheted a few poppies but has not recently been following this thread-she would like to know if they are still needed and if so where to send them. Many thanks. Please could you pm me with relevant address to send them to.

I would be happy to put them in with our displays but I'm sure your local British Legion would love to have them too? PM'd you anyway :-)

Thank you for the poppies!

The envelope had all but disintegrated in the heavy rain by the time the postlady got to my front door and I had a doorstep covered in poppies.

She was ever so upset until I told her that they would be outdoors for most of November! :-)

That is amazing!

I'm working with the local council to do something similar down our castle next year :-)

Good morning ladies, as some of you will know I met up with Joy @movan last week for a girls day out, and I took her the Poppy’s I had left after sending the rest to @Puddleduck cant wait to see the finished display.
Joy messaged me with a lovely picture of what she has done with the Poppy’s and of course the ones she has done mostly Joys. She is going to give them to Eden to put on the Cenotaph at Glastonbury.

Hi I haven’t been on the Forum much of late so apologies for everything I’ve missed. Lovely to see @movan popppy wreath. Here is my latest crochet effort with added beads.

Good afternoon girls it’s lovely to have caught up on the crochet thread you have all been busy making some lovely items.
@jumartoo Judith what have you done to your knee?

My next project has been decided by the wonderful news we have just received that Max’s son and daughter in law are expecting their first baby in the spring so I think a baby blanket is soon to be started.

Anne, nothing much. Tendonitis from trying to walk (limp, cos of blisters) carrying a rucksack for seven days on a Camino walk. The limping affected my knee so we had to stop a few stages early. It's improving now though.

Thanks for asking.

A baby blanket will be nice, piccies when you start it, please.
