Grey Jacket now completed. The individual squares are 8 inches (or there about) and they were attached by joining crochet into a rectange 5 squares by 6 squares. This was then folded in half along the longer side (so 6 squares by 2.5 squares) and the short sides attached by joining crocher leaving gaps for the arms. I used "round the post" double crochet (single crochet in US terminology) to make short cuffs (Round the post just means that instead of working into the space or into the stitch you work around the stem, or post, of the stich below). The big opening makes the neck, fronts and back and I did several rows of round the post treble (double crochet in US terminology) to make a fake rib hem.

Any type of crochet square would work and you can just alter the number of squares to make it fit. I think I will do a wider hem next time though. The yarn was variegated which meant not so many yarn joins but I would use separate colours next time (or all the same colour!). it was vital to block and set each square before using it.
Lovely Helen!!!

If @Janine needs the poppies please can she have priority?

I am busy sewing the ones I have onto boot lace weave (I bought a big roll from a discount place) so they "should" be easier to fasten into place on the horse and the monument before the big day. I am managing to attach about 50 in an evening as I watch tv, quite relaxing!

Ok crochet peeps who are going to Lymington. I started this minion in Amigurumi crochet and I have got thouroughly fed up with it, does anyone want to finish it? I've got all the wool. If one of you fancied finishing it for a grandchild or for charity let me know by tomorrow evening and I'll put it in the MH.

@Janine, I see you are on the list for Malvern. Can I bring you my poppies? If so how will I find you?

Hello ladies,

Apologies for being absent, been a bit busy prepping for Lymington and a music festival and then our big trip in September. Looking forward to seeing some of you at Lymington. We are currently parked up in The Filly Inn just down the road so not far to go tomorrow :)

Love your jacket @Puddleduck !

I am ashamed to say I have not got any further with my Sister’s shrug, I am seriously thinking of unraveling and doing another style.

I have made a couple of festival bags though.

P.S. Just seen this on FB and I had to laugh. It becomes a compulsion. I’ve had a nightmare trying to find nooks and crannies to hide yet more yarn in the van for projects to do while we are away ;)

I messaged her a day or two back but had no response :( Now worried.

@Mrsambulancekidd

Joy is fine, I speak or text her most days, she has not got much internet and taking some time out for herself but asked me to pass on love/hugs to those who have asked after her.

Thanks, it was a free pattern. I might try and sell a few bits on our European travels as I’m getting a bit overrun ;)
I know the feeling.....A lady who runs a local shop selling hand crafted items is moving on to another business opportunity, again selling hand crafted items and thank goodness my things are going with her, in fact it seems that I really need to sort out mu craft room and make more things, including finishing a load of bags....o_O

Being in the Motorhome just about full time I miss very little about our house but I guess I do miss the room that pretty much was just filled with my craft staff :blusher:

I'll be in the UK. in September and I still have my poppies to post to someone. Joy said she wanted them so if anyone in contact can ask her and pm me her address I'll post them on (if she still wants them that is).

Otherwise I'll send them to anyone who wants them

Otherwise :(:(:(

I made a whole load of black middles to take to do on the Camino in May then we didn't go so I've not finished them. I will though now someone wants them.

Thanks @Janine if Joy doesn't respond they're yours and I'll pm you for an address.
