I bet you know who these are knitted by Dee nit bad are they ?

Neckender Do pass on a message to Pat. The hares are brilliant - I just love the expressions on their faces. Are they about 45cm tall? Lucky great grandchildren.

Well I finished my asymetrical cardi  just couldn't find the energy to unravel the fron again and redo. It will do me, don't mind at all and, after all it is unique ;)
Couldn't get matching buttons, have trawled the internet for days, so have bought cream ones, they can be removed and reused once I find some green ones, have never liked wooden/wood look buttons although mum was a fan.
Photo later once completed. Loving the Christmas crafty stuff, am not very artistic though, Need the granddaughters to come and fettle my tree, but not allowed :(

I finished some more bits of edging, well fiddly as so fine. Rather painful on my left index finger because the hook was so sharp. Gave up trying to attach photo, new phone 😵
Had another lucky dip in my box, some size 30 now. Easier on the fingers, it's like rope compared to the last one.

I’ve passed your message on snailtrailer to Pat and she says thank you and they were about 45cm tall.

John.

Neckender They were worth duplicating - lovely garments. I particularly liked the cabled hooded waistcoat, although the panda is quite splendid and the Union Jack is a work of art.

I want to know more. How old are your great grandchildren? Do they live nearby and does Pat have the opportunity to measure them. We have one great granddaughter born this time last year. I haven't made anything for her for a little while but am inspired to try again.

Our great grandchildren range from 10 years old down to e few months old and another on the way, they live near by but we have kept to the rules and have hardly seen them this year Pat just goes by the pattern ages for her sizing.

Wow Neckender that is a lovely sweater my mum used to make a lot of arran sadly that skill hasn’t passed to me although I can crochet .
Mum was talented in all arts and crafts and won many prizes at agricultural shows

I've not been on the thread for a while, so much happened this year, but I've been distracting myself by crocheting.

Made a small knee warmer for when travelling or sitting outside when the evening starts to get cool (not winter time).

Then made a blanket for our bed - my target to finish it was yesterday and having finished the sewing up, I did a couple of rows of double crochet round the edge to make the border, I like how the border looks from the reverse so did it that way round.
I wanted to make the squares reasonably filled in as sometimes there is a dog on the bed, Harry can go from standing by the bed to being on with just a bend of the legs!

I really like the balls of multi colours, this one is called Perfectly Pretty.

I haven't been getting notifications on this thread recently so I've missed these last few projects. Wonderful work - lovely to see.

I came on here today to answer Anthea Offagain. One of my Christmas presents was the Moorland set from Attic 24 to make the Eastern Jewels. I had the Cupcake pack for my birthday to give me some duplicate colours so, with double knit I have in my stash, yesterday and today saw me scrambling around the floor trying to sort over 30 balls of wool into sets.

In the end I have set aside the colours needed to make Knitcraft Water Garden because they are specifically yellow, white, green and blue - substituting grey (Parma Violet) for one of the blues. That's the one I'm doing first. I must say it is very strange working in 'wool' after doing crochet octopals.

I did have a go at the Eastern Jewels last evening but didn't like my colour combinations and thought it could get worse so I am now going to do the Persian Tiles where each shape is the same colour combination. I haven't got 4 balls of any one colour for the 'navy' but two mocha, camel and stone are so similar that may work.

Another I have in mind is called Narcissus but I only have three balls towards that. I have kept back the light blues and duck egg blue for future childrens jumpers. Great start for the New Year. My reward for using up all my aran and 3 ply. :dance2:

I also missed some notifications so have unwatched and watched again to reset it.

I have been busy and will take photos when I can and before things are posted to people.

I just started a sleeveless pull over for my Dad in Brett's Marble. It's quite bright so I hope he likes it. I did finish my Mum's blanket and will need to post that to her, two sweaters for the two older Grandsons, a cardi for Martin that still needs buttons (on order) and an edge to edge cardi for me in a yarn blend on a cone I bought on ebay ages a ago. I had enough left over to make a pair of socks. The yarn cone said "Marino, silk and cashmere" but I take that with a big pinch of salt. It was hard on the fingers to work with but washing has made it much softer and nicer.

Are you on the Persian tiles Facebook page? There are some beautiful colour combinations. I‘m slightly regretting my choice of only using King Cole Riot, I only did so because I saw a finished blanket using it and it was stunning, plus I’m lazy and didn’t want to have to sew all those ends in! Mine is a bit dark for my liking but I’m going to persevere and maybe chalk it down to experience.

Pam sometimes I don’t seem to get the notifications but if I unwatch the thread them watch it again it starts working again. Hope you and Derek are both well
I don’t get notifications either. I’ll try the “turn it off and back on again trick”!

In between making octopals I have mainly been making baby jackets. My niece had a baby in November and I had made a newborn size for him, ready to send off. Then he was born at 9lb 12oz, so I’ve kept that one for Reggie to grow into and made 0-6 mths for my niece’s baby! However, Claire sent me a picture of him it it the other day and it fits like a glove! She loves the pattern though so asked me to make another in a larger size.

The other day I made some cushion covers to take out to the boat, whenever we’re allowed to go next. I have material to make curtains too, and must get around to doing that.

They all have flags on one side and stripes on the other. The curtains will be from the striped material.

I also have a pile of preemie hats if someone could remind me of where to send them.
